Quote: jonh "Most fickle fans ever.

Reading social media and this forum it’s laughable.

If you support the club, support the club.

So much negativity over a player that takes a big chunk of the cap and hardly plays and a lad who in truth has stagnated at the club and doesn’t get a game over 2 very average players.

Miller I think is a big miss if he goes.

Batch and TJ very replaceable.

Same “fans” should be blushing but will be giving it the big one when we stay up (and we will).'"

I believe we will stay up (hope), though our performances need a massive up turn to do this. I get why a lot of fans are abit gloom, bottom skirting for so long and going by our recent recruitment doesn’t fill you with positivity at times. If Miller, Batch and obviously Johnstone, and who ever else for that matter go than like you said, that’s free’s up a significant chunk. But who are we going to convince to come for next year with how close we are skirting about the bottom with Toulouse.

You have to admit it’s very frustrating being a Wakefield fan, as beating Toulouse might of given us enough breathing space to actually distance ourselves from the thought of relegation.

We don’t need to replace TJ.

Batch is a squad player in a team filled with squad players.

Miller for me will be a big miss.

This is a huge offseason for Trinity and what should be the end of our transitional years if done right.

Whilst I think many on here often overreact, I do feel in a time like this with so much speculation of players moving on and poor on field performances we would benefit from some sort of direction from the club.

Looking on to next year, I’d imagine season ticket sales will plummet given currently we have no indication that the supposedly departing players will be replaced.

Miller is very disappointing if true, I saw a stat recently that he’s really close to becoming the longest serving overseas player. That would’ve been nice to see!

1-5 with or without Johnstone I’m happy with. The transition for me is 6-13, we have a lot of bodies OCC and linked else where. The transition would of been made a lot more easy with a few more wins and a cushion to give potential recruits the confidence of signing for us next year. I just hope we turn it around sooner rather than later to try distance ourselves from the threat of relegation to give ourselves the best opportunity to recruit before we miss out on players who would of fit the bill for us.

We are probably the most loyal supporters considering the rubbish we have had to put up with for several seasons. We go to a ground where the total expenditure on upkeep is probably below £1000. I would remind those of you that there is a cost of living crisis with any excess money limited or nonexistent. I find it amazing that you believe however loyal a supporter they are, the thought of paying out about £300 for a season ticket or £25 per match will come first. What will the prices be once the redevelopment is completed.
We are in the entertainment business which I believe some at the top have forgotten, we are run on the cheap, the players we bring on are usually when the best have already signed for other clubs and have no other options. The others are like Gaskell who have deteriorated but we offer them multi year contracts. I presume you can tell me why it will be different this time because I doubt the savings in contract payments will be used in full for squad strengthening.
The club take our money but what they provide is not worth it as an experience and has not been for quite sometime but still we pay. We don’t ask much but to lose what are our Crown Jewels of our current squad does not bode well if we do survive.

as the conversation has broadened.... ill throw in my 10c worth

we have a decent level of depth in the threequarters... although Reece needs a huge kick up the

we have one fullback and not one coming through the juniors or reserves.

half backs are ok (even good when they play well) and a couple of kids coming through... I am however at a lost to explain the reticence to play Walker... he's been excellent every time he's pulled on a shirt (face doesn't fit?)

hooker... Hood is not the answer for any super league team... Bowes and a couple of kids are showing promise

middles... we are desperately light in the middle, one impact prop is easily dealt with by opposition defences... none of our other middles are capable of bending ... let alone breaking... the defensive line... again we have promising kids

edge forwards ... are pretty much non functioning currently... steady in defence is the best that can be said.

as a team we are able to perform well in patches but lack physical, tactical and emotional resilience to maintain any kind of peak performance.

we still seem to be playing without genuine structure and confidence... support lines are poor... hit and stick defence has stopped

I'm not seeing much to feel confident about at the moment from the playing group... but I'm a Trinity fan of over 50 years so that's nothing new and we've survived with much worse teams than this in the past.

We're not though are we? We have been in Super League for over 20 years so many of our younger fans know no different than watching Trinity v the top teams. Fans of say Rochdale, Oldham, Whitehaven etc deserve far greater credit. Lets give the loyalty badge to anyone who's on here, or more importantly at the ground, next season if we get relegated.

I remember the dark day at the club ,when not only players weren’t getting payed but neither were the bills , me n the misses used to come down n clean the seats in the stand to help out and pull the tarpaulins over the pitch to make sure the games would be played . We’ve come a long long way in that respect and you don’t get that feeling now that the HMRC will turn the lights off and bring the curtains down one last time . Off field we are stable , but we need to seriously toughen up on the playing side , it’s all purely hindsight now but I wonder what we would have looked like after a few seasons under Brian Smith and his tough regime . We may have just been moulded into a much more resilient fighting force than the one that buckles under the pressure of the game that we have now , who knows now that’s behind us and we move on . But we have Poching now so we have to back him and the board and see what comes to fruition in the coming months ,and win a few games whilst we all wait with baited breath .

Maybe the club is currently negotiating with players as replacements but don't have anything concrete to announce yet?
Have to give them some time, but the silence at the minute is rather deafening.

I'll support the club irrespective of the division they play in, doesn't change that I think we're heading in one direction and it's not upwards. Players leave, thats part of the game, and whilst we can say all we want about Johnstone not playing half the games, Batch being a squad player and Miller being poor over the past few seasons (not you) the issue is who these players are replaced by. I don't expect improvements, especially as yet again we are flirting with relegation so will be last pick for most players.

But isn't it an opportunity for the club to recruit quality and to make a couple of the new signings building blocks.
Build a team around new signings and sell the club on that basis, Stoke a couple of egos.
Should we survive in SL my fear would be we continue with a hooker, stand off and at least 3 pack members that quite frankly are not SL material.

Quote: lampyboy "The clubs a shambles and if the present rumours are true the club must take full responsibility for the contract situation.

You do know that contracts are agreed by both parties don't you?

I have no idea if the club concider any of the present players involved as major key players, but if they do why wasn't contract extentions offered at the start of the season. I would also say that if you don't consider the captain of the club and major playmaker a key player somethings wrong.

As above how do you know contracts have not been offered these can extremely private and long negotiations for a club and a player to agree as well as players having other options on the table.
Wakefield start every season on the back foot mainly because of the poor showing in the transfer market.

Batch I would imagine must be a money thing because HKR will not be much better than Trin providing Trinity can stay up.

It could be money it could be that he has been given better opportunities to play . At Wakefield I rate Batch but he has had his injuries and he competes in an area where we have similar players.

A club with no ambition or any intention of improvements sends the wrong message to the players and fans, loyal players become frustrated resulting in wanting away.
Change in attitude and directions needed, but I'm willing to bet nothing will change

Why not just sit back and see what develops in respect of players coming and players going.

Just what are your intentions for the club Mr Carter.'"

I do not think he has to be accountable to this forum do you?

My take on things is TJ has been loyal as have we to him, for a low budget club we need more appearances, Back row forwards we have a dearth at the moment, Miller I will be sad to see go although many fans have slaughtered him over the past seasons. Both he and TJ can leave the club with their heads held high as can Batch.

Others off contract will show we have some top earners leaving so who knows what the plan is for the club but your last point will be answered I suspect shortly.
