| Well i completely disagree. I thought the ref let the game flow and penalised when it needed doing. I saw 1 maybe 2 decisions i would like to have explained and if thats the case through a whole game, i can deal with that.

He pulled them up for offside from Woods kick, it was a terrible call as there was no one even near him!
Few baffling calls but in general I don’t think the referee has a terrible game, in fact it’s one of the better performances I have seen this season which I guess kind of backs up your point re the standard thoughout SL.

Agree with this exactly
He let the game flow well in the first half
We're the two decisions when reece was taken out on the shudds like and his no try for I think bjb grabbing?

| Think the problem lies at the very top. The controller of referees was one of the most unpredictable refs the game has ever seen in fact Ganson often seemed to have his own rule book. This is bound to have transfer to his new job and then down to his charges.
I can imagine Ganson is a nightmare boss who’s reactions and instructions will be muddled. This in turn leads to refs not knowing where they stand and thus reffing inconsistently.
Ganson was a rotten choice imo based on his days with the whistle. Of course I can’t prove it as such but I do know as a rule most problems start at the top.
That said I’ve seen worse than last night.

I'd pretty much agree with you. I thought he tried really hard to let the game flow.
There were as you say a couple of odd decisions but generally speaking he was better than the refs we've had recently.

Think your right about him it must rub off to the other ref's, Always ready him penalising Andy Ralleigh for not playing the ball correctly against landon when all the game everybody had done the exactly the same thing which Landon score from and we lost.

| Watched the Shudds game on Trinity tv and some of the second half decisions were baffling and before you say I’m bitter, I rewound it a couple of times and there was nothing wrong or anything that resembles Child’s signals.

| To be honest I am now subscribing to the theory that there is too much going on for refs to handle and we need two. The NRL have admitted this and put this in place and we should too.

| Agreed Supercat, but where is the quality of 12 referees going to come from + you need reserves for injury & illnesses ?
On a lighter note could you cope with Childs & say hicks or Kendal on/in the same match ? The mind boggles !

| Just watched an excellent nrl game. Parramatta v St George. Consistent impartial refs. Noone threw the ball at a grounded player. Noone attacked the legs / knees. Just a good fast paced game. Far better standard of play and refs than most SL games. And considering One of the refs was Ashley Klein.

| I watched it too, no where near the number of bad tackles as the shudds game, & that's the overall point !

| I think its the overall standard of refereeing, rather than just a select few.
A couple of years ago, I thought Thaler was the best, and bemoamed the fact he hardly reffed us, but since Ive said that seen him miss quite a few calls.
Theyre all human, but something from the top needs doing.

Yes
To be fair, the game is so fast, no wonder they're making errors. It gets the blood boling at the time but they have a hard job
