Forgive me but I'm not much of a follower of NRL. Is he any good? Also it's gone a bit quiet on the craig Hall and BJB front? Anyone heard anything? We can't afford to lose pace from our back line

He does look a good player.

To me though, he is more of a back rower, and don't see him as a replacement for Anderson, Fifita is. To me, if anything, is he replacing Tupou, as he is a similar type player and age. Tupou has had several niggling injuries since he was here, and has only played something like 13 games, of which a few of these have been from the bench. I would not be surprised if he went back at the end of the year.

With us announcing signings like this in good time, is one of the benefits of knowing your status ahead of other teams. We are able to plan ahead of some teams, who have the middle 8's looming.

Personally, would rather have had a decent out and out third half back though, to provide cover and competition next year for Miller and Finn. I have mentioned him before, but Jamie Soward is on his way over to London, and is looking for a super league club for next year. I was looking at the comments on this board from other Super League clubs, and there are 5 sides that have been linked, 3 of which are in the bottom 4. The other two are in the lower reaches of the top 8. For us to improve on next season, we need to be looking at bringing in someone like him.

As for Hall and Jones-Bishop, they have both done enough for me, to warrant a contract extension, but wouldn't break the bank to keep them. If we did retain them, plus bring in Atkins, then our group of backs for 2017 are looking rather strong.

Hall is a good player but only a good squad player for me now. Would keep but only if price was right.

BJB is great in my opinion. He has scored some great tries and saved some certain ones too.

There is no way Finn and Miller will go through another season injury free so we do need good cover for them. Having a 13 who can genuinely play 6 or 7 would help a lot.

Yes, he's a good player. Principally a ball handling loose forward/second row but has been known to play stand off. Not had a great deal of game time this season with Manly and at 32 is probably past his peak but still has plenty of quality.

His name sounds rather rude to me.

It is also mentioned on the 18th man website and could join us as early as next week.

Mateo would be cover for our halfs

If Mateo is the one providing cover for the halves, a couple of questions.

Firstly, is he any good in the halves, and apart from his offloading game, what attributes will he bring. Kicking game etc. Having played over 200 NRL games, I would think he is a good player.

Also, at 32, and 17st, is he quicker then Finn. A lot of bigger players tend to be slow on cumbersome.

Only asking, as I don't watch a load of NRL to be honest.
