He's been a shadow of his former self for a couple of years i'm afraid. He would probably create a little bit of media interest due to his 'cult figure' status but at 35 his contribution to the team would i reckon be less than either Tautai or Moore has this year whilst i'd wager his salary would be larger than either. And the only thing thats going to stoke the fires of the Wakefield public is a winning team. He does though have big hair so we might be able to flog some wigs.

I would guess that it would be a big lump of our SC tied up on a 35 year old playing small minutes.
It doesn't sound like a wakey player to me.

It depends what purpose(s) he serves!

If he's been signed with one eye on the marketing value of his name with a part rationale of generating some interest from a percentage of the apathetic Wakefield fan base, then it's a shrewd decision. If that can be combined with some big impact off the bench for 15 minutes a half throughout the season then as long as he's not on Wayne Rooneys wages he's a good signing for a year or possibly two.

If we think he's coming purely as a player and that he's going to rip SL apart with power and pace and be the answer to all our problems then he'll be seen as a failure and we will be disappointed.

A sense of proportion and realism would have to be adopted from fans and just enjoy his time in a Wakefield shirt, IF he's coming at all!

I don't believe for one second he is the type of player we would spend money on because how many so called senior props from the NRL are currently regulars in the SL. The problem is that his body will be shot due to the number of years he has been playing in the NRL.

I don't think it would generate anything more than a small initial interest by some, which would soon dissipate if results were poor and he would then soon be forgotten.
Winning games would increase income and for me a gimmick is not the way to achieve it.
