That also worries me mate but not just with Agar there are a few players now with business interests outside the game and I have to ask myself are they giving 100% to the Wakefield wildcats.

From his time at Hull Agar is a fantastic assistant coach. Very good at drills etc. Still unproven as a head coach though

He clearly knows the game inside out, you can hear this when he talks. His players, well those who play regularly under him, have nothing but good things to say about him (see Collis’ reasoning for his contract renewal for example). However there seems to be something that just doesn’t transfer onto the pitch as it should. The defence structure is awful, there’s question marks re motivation of players, he stubbornly picks players who arguably do not offer as much as those who he snubs, we see the same mistakes from player repeated over and over again and there is no apparent options on the last tackle plays.

So long as it doesn't worry the Head Coach or the Chairman, it doesn't worry me; conversely, I think it's a positive development that young players are using their free time and energy to plan for what happens after what is, after all, a short and rather precarious career.

I agree, what would we want them to do with their free time. It's only the same as Jessica Ennis advertising Santander. I'm pretty sure she is giving her career 100% as well.
They just haven't go the same connections.

First of all, as supporters of Wakefield we have to be realistic.
Certainly in the latter days of the Richardson era, the club was on a pretty steep downslope and Mr Kear deserves immense credit for keeping us in SL on what was a shoestring budget and ensuring that we didn't collect and wooden spoons, especially in his last season at the helm where we had a paper thin squad, both in terms of numbers and quality.
Since Mr Glover took the helm we have become a much more stable club and with Newmarket on the horizon we have the opportunity to grow and assuming all goes well there is the possibility that we mmay be in a position to potentially attract a better class of playing staff.
Concerning offering Agar a contract extension IMO the answer is a definite yes.
Last season, with some luck towards the end of the season, we surpassed expectation and he should be congratulated on our top 8 finish.
This time around, although we may struggle to hit the 8 (although it's still possible), the club is around where it ought to be (given our current spend).
Of course we should all want bigger and better things for Wakefield but, at present we are doing ok.
The key to the clubs success isn't about getting a new coach, its about getting to N/M and then making it work, then we may be able to challenge for a strong mid-table finish before aiming higher still.

They have more free time than the average working man so obviously have other interests plus as we all know it is a short career even without injuries,so it dos'nt concern me regarding outside interests. If you go out on the field and not give 100% you're going to get hurt,I'm hoping that RA as a coach can spot any player not giving their all and deal with it accordingly.

Certainly doesn't worry me, as long as they give 100% on the pitch and in training that's all that matters. In fact they should be encouraged and applauded to find other skills and interests away from the game, after all they're a long time retired from RL.

No . The way he spoke( with affection ) at the evening with, about the Toulouse chairman i would expect him to be off as soon as they secure a sl spot , also the way he as butchered the academy side from the top of the tree to the worst side in there comp is criminal. Just my opinion.

Surely, as the personel in the academy are completely different from the one "at the top of the tree" and also he isn't directly responsible for their development although obviously top dog, I can't see how you can compare the two and blame him for any difficiency

i think mr meldrews quote was mr agars reference to our champ, ionship winning side not the current academy side who with the greatest respect are not in the same class,if im right with my thinking RA was at hull at that time a team that our u18s got the double over, amazes me,its been said on here before the acheivments that team did but most posters on here, not everyone havent a clue never watched em iwas at that evening with richard agar and yes he did refer to the fact that other teams didnt play their best teams ,i took time on previous threads to name wigan , cas and i didnt mention leeds with callum watkins no mr agar your quote was hearsay and its time supporters on here gave that team the credit they deserved r,rant over

Even if he did fancy a move to Toulouse if they got into SL, at best it wouldn't be for a few years and it'll probably be time for a change anyway by then imo.

In those age groups players change every year anyway, so surely a lot depends on the standard of that years players and can't compare one season to another, doesn't it.

Also like others have said surely if you have a grievance shouldn't it be at the the guy running the academy program, which is Dickens isn't it. If he isn't doing a good job, that wants looking at definitely because it's one of the most important jobs at the club imo. Personally I just don't get to the amount of Academy games I used to in years gone by so it's hard to give an opinion on the subject.

we had agreat performance and then a decent one against a very poor salford team, lets be honest weve got to mantain that form ,its only a couple of weeks since we were way below par against cas and hull kr lets not get carried away and see what happens the rest of the season and the same players we are raving over us criticts were rightfully at that time pulling em apart,i agree collis deserves another contract butsome want treating with caution
