| Perhaps if the Westwood speculation has some substance he could go to the Wires in exchange

It would 100%, but somehow you have to think that a club like ours can't always afford to have its best players at their best.
There is an air of almost absolute certainty that if not now, in the near future, if anakin continues to impress he will be lured away.
Another (actually the main) reason we need to be paying full price for STs.

| Until Newmarket is alive and kicking our players are always going to be lured away and who would blame them. Newmarket is the key for us hitting to top 8 and above every season, let's just hope we still have a 14 team super league until then. It obvious we need the extra investment and facilities to stay in the top flight, if I were an up and coming SL star, the likes of Belle Vue and Wheldon road are hardly the most inspiring places I would like to be applying my trade.

| Another quote from our owner when he took over was the selling of our better players would stop, I see this as his first big challenge in that department.
Would be very very disappointed if we lost him.

| With the NRL scouts reportedly looking at young British forwards, you would think Chris may have come onto there radar too.
With the recent signing of Cooper from Wire and the reported interest in a couple of Young Championship players (Lillycrop been one) I wouldn't be surprised to see an Aussie club take a punt on him.

Bit of a short memory and a tad unfair, I'd have said Amor was the first wouldn't you? We won't win them all though I hope we win this one however with Amor and a number of contract extensions under his belt I think AG has stood by his word as much as he can wouldn't you?

the way I see the poster is addressing this are players that are fetched through our system, Amor wasn't but his quality was deemed to make that contract there for him.
I too hope that we can keep a few players from within our budget but the main thing is we are producing players that do turn other clubs head around.
the economics of our game is whether we can hold on to these players or not, sadly every player has a price tag that you can't say no to.
one thing to remember was the sale of Brough that ruin our season was it worth the profit in sale to the loss in income else where
not a problem with us selling players as long as we keep that conveyor belt moving it works for wigan

Amor was offered to FC.
Anakin is one of our own vasty and if we are to believe in 1873 then this is the acid test.
Lets hope we can keep him.

| I'll put my tin hat on here and play the devils advocate, yes the production line is the way forward long term, but.....In a couple of seasons time we're gonna (if I understand SL plans) be in a sort of knock out rugby season where league standing genuinely means something! Shouldn't the club be putting our shoulders to the wheel, signing such as Ben Westwood and getting our strongest squad together to hopefully stay in the elite top 8? There I've done it! Fire away.

mmm, not really the point I was making. I'm saying so far AG has lived up to his word regarding keeping. It would IMHO be unfair for him to kop some flak on this one if Anakin goes (probably outbid). You'd have to point fingers elsewhere on that one for me as I'm sure the signing would have been made had the coaching staff demanded it.
