| No loss. Should've been out of the side anyway with his lack of form.

| detached retina is a very nasty injury and would I think be a very difficult injury to recover from, especialy if you want to take part in a contact sport. With this in mind I wish the lad all the very best for a good recovery.

| Nasty injury, hope he can fully recover. I think Frank Bruno was retired due to a detached retina, also Sugar Ray but he managed to compete again.

Bruno had a detached retina repaired when he was 30 so he must have fought on a bit after that. He also had an operation in Colombia , when he was 18 to correct his short sightedness. So it's not neccessairily curtains for Mellors' career.

| Sorry to hear about his injury but having him out of the side is good news as he's been consistently poor.

Did you not say that when Mellors replaced Murphy ?

| I would be more than happy to see Murphy come back. He'd certainly shore up a leaky centre/wing partnership on either side. Is he getting any game tome at the Farts squad?

| Winger playing centre. I'm sure in his Propper position he'd have done lots better. Good try at the Ethiad though. Detached retina could be career ending. Hope for him and his families sake he recovers fully

| Personally think Mellars has been alright! Got off to a shakey start, dropped and played on the bench, but since returning to centre he's looked good

No neither do I, he had a couple of poor games early on and these things tend to take on a life of their own and because he's not flash and steady away, it's hard to shake those earlier games off. Like someone else said he's a winger playing and his positional play is a little suspect.

No, I was a big fan of Murphy. Tommy Lee on the other hand....

For what we're paying him (allegedly) he should be a lot better than 'steady away' - he should be a match winner.
Not good value for money at all IMO.

Maybe but my point was that he hasn't been as bad as a lot make out and defo doesn't deserve the stick he gets.
Wouldn't have thought he would have been on a too high wage, not coming from where he was and in the circumstances, or is it one of those because he's a Aussie he must be on a good wack. Like I said it would help if we played him in the place where he's had success, the wing.
