Not bad to say there are 3-6 of us who used to go each week who have stopped due to the Kear madness. (1 got sick of the rain every time he went) I'm sure there are other former diehards out there waiting for next season too!
I just pray next season we're labelled glory supporters.

Die hards wouldn't stop going

I know some who did; die-hards of 20 years standing, with more season tickets and miles travelled under their belts than many who still go today.

They're being tempted back next season by the optimistic ownership of AG, the prospect of a new coach and the slow construction of a team that might just be competitive.

The fellow diehards are the once who feel it the most. The ones who hurt like crazy 7 days after every game. Those who play on 'Rugby League live' for 12 hours straight after a 60 point loss trying to put things right in their head. Those who don't just go for a laugh and a beer with mates then blindly stick up for the club on forums to think they are in. Those who travel to a stadium 60 miles away with a leaking car radiator in 26c heat because they don't want to miss us sneak a win. Players come and go, diehards will always be around contributing, even if they do have a dip in form.

Diehard, more like a blowhard - you're an armchair/tap room pundit who mistakes talking about the club for actually supporting it. Give it a rest.

My dad's older than his dad - he's 85 and watched the Wakefield Cubs play baseball on Belle Vue when he was a kid as well as Trinity.

Cheshire Cat 57 would probably beat that, he was at Wembley in 1946 when we beat Wigin. Apparently it upset his mrs as they were on honeymoon at the time.

Attendance on Saturday - 6784

Total attendance for the 12 games so far this season - 78676
Average attendance for the 12 games so far this season - 6556

Total attendance for same 12 games last season - 72400
Average attendance for same 12 games last season - 6033

Total attendance for all 13 games last season was 77781, so we've already beaten that.
Attendances up by just over 8.5% on same games last year. Not bad considering the squad we took into the start of the season. If we could possibly get 6900 for the last game we could see an increase of over 10% on last years crowds. A big ask for a Friday night game with 2 teams who have very little to play for except pride but if we could do that it would be brilliant IMO.

I have a suggestion that these 3, or more, very old die hards should lead out the new for the bright new dawn in 2012.
It would be very special for them after nearly 70 years support.
Perhaps they should be the guests of honour for the day, squad numbers to reflect they age, not the playing roster!
