| The biggest obsticle block for us and has been for 15 years is that our council leader is a cas season ticket holder . I firmly believe this guys if you were a big fan of cas why would you bend your back to get wakey a ground?? You wouldn't and this guy isn't thats for sure. If he was passionate and was a wakey fan the ground would be built by now. I don't by Mr Box Ball*cks he talks rubbish. It boils down to this theory Mr Box has let us as a sporting city down for so long becuase he is CAS born and bread. Its like a scouser in charge of Manchester council it doesnt work because they have no desire to go the extra mile. If TRB was our council leader the ground would be up by now these lads are willing to go the extra mile Mr Box is not because he has no love for Wakey RLFC but much love for Cas Tigers.

Yes this is what i am saying. Hes no love for us he is cas born and bread he will not bend his back to get us it like Rodney and the lads who are working countless for this ground to go ahead. Box will only give us this ground if there is something in it for him. Anyone feel generous for a tip ladies and gents

| At least they are making the right noises,as far as other teams sharing Newmarket you'd have thought that Wakefield FC down at College Grove would be very interested in the development, giving them chance to expand as a club.

| Quote: wakeytrin "That sounds good, just need Wakey council to pull their finger out and pass the plans in September.'" listen even if your stadium is passed it will be pulled in by this new goverment for review anyway which could take months, we at salford have seen this first hand, then don't get me started on the council planning for new roads being laid and other situations including residents petitioning about what the stadium would do to the green belt in the area and the enviroment also being effected by the project, things like this has put salford back years in the past, we now have everything up and running on site and building work will start in september, even we will just about be on the deadline of late 2011 so i cant see either you or cas getting everything passed remenition started and building work underway and finished by late 2011 i think its near enough impossible do get done on time, makes you wonder why kear actually wanted to quit doesnt it? Maybe hes realised its just a matter of time before the inevitable happens.

I think that's the longest sentence I've seen in my entire life.
Congratulations?

| The project is too good to refuse its a great benefit to the City and district even coun box can't try to stop this. The facilities and jobs the project brings without council funding its a winner allround. People have siad that building the stadium is a sweetner to get the commercial units up. But it could work the other way round, 2000 jobs and state of the art community sports facilities in this current economic climate even the WMDC can't hold this up.

I think it may well get called in, but it equally likely that it is passed straight back without an inquiry.
The cost of a public inquiry and the need to stimulate the economy are factors not lost on the new Government.

I'll clarify this point about Cas for you. We've got outline PP. We only need to apply for Full PP and we can build. We will be applying for full PP in the near future.
We've done groundworks - once full PP is submitted we'll be doing the stadium contours. Hope that clarifies the situation for you.
I'll leave the Wakey fans to argue the toss with you about their stadium plans.

| What on earth will we talk about when we are in a new stadium? Oh, I've got an idea...how about Rugby League?!!!
Am I the only who is getting fed up with the multiple threads about the (possible) new ground? Can't we have just one (sticky) thread that everyone who has stadium news, wants to debate etc posts on?

Ask Brighton & Hove Albion how far that got them when their stadium plans were called in.

| just browsing over other teams sites and looking at salford they dont seem to be any further forward than us really!! In fact apparently according to their local sources they are cutting size of ground to 12000 ( with options of expansion to this). Local council funding falling away? Budget a bit tight?? who knows? Its like Cas the rumours were they build 2 stands one season and two stands the season after?? everything is not rosey in anyones garden so to me we should look after our own and knackers to everybody else!!
