| How did he get nominated, as much as I rate him, the form over the "whole" season, others would have stood out ahead of him.
I will still vote for him though!!

Quality player ripped us apart scoring a hat trick in a final a couple of years back.

A hat trick against a back line of fatties on a massive pitch is hardly a special feat...

Did he fight Crones disease on the way, surely that is the real issue. Hands down to Moore IMHO, as this thing can kill people.

It's because of his fight against a life threatening illness, not everything revolves around RL and Trinity. I'm sorry I know you probably meant well but there is a bigger world out there and Moore is a great role model in that respect.

Come on, in very few cases does it 'kill people' - what Moore has done is great, and to be applauded, but people can vote for whoever they want. If you want to vote based on acheivement in terms of coming back from injury/illness fine, but if others want to vote on who they believe is the outstanding performer from that list, what's the problem?

Exactly!
I based my opinion on the fact that I've played and watched both sports and think the step up from local football to league one is a huge one which Oli has taken in his stride brilliantly.
Moore has never taken a huge step like that in his rugby career, he started at big clubs and had a temper and attitude problem and dropped down a level. His career was re-ignited by Kear with a last chance and he's grabbed that with both hands.
To overcome his illness problems and get back to the level he is now performing at again has to be applauded and it's testament to the lads hard work and desire.
I played against Oli a couple of seasons ago though and although I thought he was good, I thought I'd played against a number of lads of equal or better ability. For him to be playing and scoring goals in a mid table league one side now though totally eclipses anything Moore has ever done IMHO. That's a phenomenal step up in such a short space of time...

I never said they couldn't, I was pointing out that Moores nomination had very little to do with RL form etc and far more to do with his incredibly quick return to playing. In fact many doubted he would play again. Who you vote for is up to you but the reasons for the nomination seemed to be missed by some.

Well it's all about opinion and although I get your point I don't agree. To base it purely on your criteria is wrong for me. Also I don't see what is so special about the other lads achievement, it's fairly common in RL. But hey.

| "Professional" award. Tricky one. Playing a physically demanding game when seriously ill. Shows determination and professionalism. Being dropped for hitting a team mate. Unprofessional.
Would be good local publicity for the club though, so would get my vote (not in Wakefield anymore, so haven't seen other candidates).

Look at the case of Danny Sculthorpe....
In magazines and newspapers for battling diabetes = 'hero'
Doing whatever he did (because unless you're in the loop, no-one has ever said) = 'villain'
I dare say had Moore gone to Wigan, the usual muppets would come along telling us how bad a player he was for daring to leave the club and want to play elsewhere.
