Obviously.....
I'd say they had a very good look at him (scoring tries and making them look ordinary) on Monday.........

| Getting Murphy to commit to a contract extension will becan excellent season ticket marketing tool.

If losing Aydin means Shaw / Easah step up for next year and Murphy gets improved terms then it's money well spent in my opinion. It feels like a big ask though given every club in the league would probably like him. Let's just see how it all pans out'"
19 tries and 4 assists in 19 games I think including challenge cup.

Possibly, but is he quite that well known yet? I'm not so sure.
I get your logic but it will take a bit of spin to get it out to the wider public.

The club must have some incredible still photo of him flying through the air.
When I say marketing I don't mean Facebook or twitter I'm talking about a poster campaign in a d around the merry city.'"
Wouldn't make any difference. People would just look at the poster and say 'whose he'.
But fundamentally you are correct.
If he wins young player of the year you might be able to milk that a bit. But you wouldn't do that through posters, that's just yesterdays technology I'm afraid.
You'd do it through the media you've just dismissed.
You'd sign Lewis on a new deal with part of it being as the face of the club in the media.
He's a decent looking lad, speaks well on TV, doesn't appear shy. Get him permanently on social media and in the local press, visiting schools, factories, opening shops, local Rugby clubs, anything that makes him a face that people start to know and talk about. Doesn't need to cost much other than the extra we pay Lewis and perhaps a bit of guidance from a local PR company.
Of the social media sites, and I'm no expert, but I think TikTok would be a good one. Put together a really slick video of his tries, and some cracking defence and tie it in with Wakefield, both the club and the city. Due to his acrobatics it might appeal to a broader audience within the Wakefield district. Get the clubs social media followers to back it and see where it goes.
So long as it's done in a fun and tactful way and doesn't set him up for a fall it would probably work. I can't see his media activities bothering the rest of the team, especially now Dave has gone.

| They seem to be marketing Murphy a fair bit on Twitter with his finishers etc. Driving around Wakey you’d never think we had a RL team. Some savvy advertising, boards etc would make a difference, bring the feel good factor back to the city. Murphy is an advertisers Wet Dream if marketed right.

I only look at the facebook page, but he features in 6 of the first 11 images you come across, so I suspect somebody has got the idea.
He's actually slightly more marketable than TJ. He looks a bit more boy band, a bit more trendy and he is certainly less awkward on TV than TJ was to start with. It's only marginal as TJ wasn't far off. However I might be wrong but I get the feeling that young Murphy might be a bit more up for it than most, he clearly believes in himself and that comes across.

I was thinking more of renewals for starters.

Not particularly although I don't think he's quite the antichrist that Gaskell was on arrival. 3 year extension for Murphy would outweigh any negativity amongst the silent season ticket purchasing majority regarding Gale.

We will not argue but my opinion is different. I was not that fussed about losing Miller but if this is his replacement

I often wonder if TJ regrets extending his stay and what his advice to Murphy would be now.
