| Everything the giants did came off for them in the first half. There were also 3 errors that gifted them 3 try's (kick off, sammut dropped bomb and Ali losing it on their line). A few of our defenders getting bumped off quite easily wasn't the best viewing but we won the second half so that's a positive

how many would you say were giants? i guessed at about 400-500'"
From the boxes it looked a poor crowd. With 30 minutes to go there was barely 1000 in the ground. Giants looked around the 400 mark to me too.

| I'd say 4300 was about right. There didn't look to be too many stood in the East stand.
Going back to the game, it was similar to the Catalans game. Our big men were on the bench while their big men were posting points. By the time our big men came on it was too late. It's a shame Mathers pulled out late as I would like to have seen Sammut and Smith in the halves today. Sammut looked an attacking threat in the second half. I'm still convinced he's not a full back.

| A really disappointing 1st half and so many missed chances in the 2nd.
We were our own worst enemies for 40 minutes.
Yes, Mr Child made the situation worse but, did we actually complete a set in the first 40.
A real let down today but, its still 5 wins and a draw from our last 8 games.

| Quote: Khlav Kalash "Indeed, the only reason I posted what I did is because the thrashing in the first half was used in a transparent defence for Agar's ineptness.'"
Its over 2 month since Agar left the club so what on earth has the first half thrashing today got to do with him, in that time we have won 5 lost 2 and drawn 1, Agar took no plaudits' for the wins' that was down to Webbo and rightly so, and by the same laws the first half debacle was also down to him, Agar's gone do yourself a favour and get over him, instead of having a pop at every opportunity, a lot on here wanted him gone me included but most of us resist the temptation to keep having a meaningless dig at him. Your posts' are normally well thought out and imo posts' like these do you little credit.

| Our first half was awful and we barely completed a set. We looked very lethargic and got totally dominated through the middle. But we should still have had a couple of tries had keinhorst and Owen been able to play together (that combination was shocking today), if you add to that the length of the field try from alis drop ball and the one from sammut s .
Second half we made enough chances to score 30 or 40 points but still continued to not catch the ball!
Strangest point for me was why break up the halfbacks after last week? If mathers was not fit why not just drop sykes in at FB ?

| There were a couple of points I would query with regards to the team today.
First was playing Jarrod at FB. I just don't think he us one and I would have had him at SO, with Sykes in the centre and Lyne out wide. I do think Sykes played ok, but then either he or Owen could have played FB and probably better than Jarrod. We wouldn't play Tim Smith there as it wouldn't work and I think the same should apply to Jarrod.
Also, as has been mentioned, I think I would have thrown the big lads on earlier as we could all see we were getting mashed!
It's all in the memory bank now. On to St Helens!

| First half straight from the kick off everything went wrong for us, whilst they were faster stronger and smarter than us coupled with everything they did going right. Not many SL sides could have coped with them first half. Pleased we showed some fight in the second half and would have taken that final score at half time.

| Looking at Webster's after match press conference there is an acknowledgement that we are too light weight in the pack....So why don't we learn from the Catalan and Huddersfield games and start with Tautai at 13 against the bigger teams like we did a little at the start of the season with some success?.....
“[iIt’s no secret that our Achilles heel for the last three years has been when we can’t handle a big, fast strong team and we couldn’t today,” admitted Webster.
“Physicality is a big part of rugby league and we can do it throughout the year at times but we were caught short again today.
“Huddersfield are a massive team, everybody knows it. It just depends if you can handle it and we couldn’t. It took us forty minutes to adapt to that today.[/i
We're losing Tautai, Moore and Raleigh and so far have got one promising replacement in Simon coming the other way....evidence against these big teams show that we need more than that next season.
Hope Anderson can come back in next week and help with our go forward.
I'll talk rugby and ignore those that wish to talk about other matters not in connection with the thread.

| We didn't play well the 1st half but also look back and they get 2 trys from well forward passes that were let go and one try where the player clearly lost the ball as he went to ground it and being tackled. One point I would be asking is when we dropped the ball and they raced more or less the length of the field to score why was the only man who made a concerted effort to catch the winger Richard Moore who had to turn and chase but matched the winger for pace.Where were our speed men if our prop forward who is in the twilight years of his playing days could keep pace with a winger over that distance.

Oh dear.
You responded to Chissit's perfectly reasonable post (it is a forum you know) with a snide comment about the eloquence of his post. Unfortunately for you, you spelled "eloquently" incorrectly. This rather undermined your comeback to him and, imho, made you look something of a tit. Does this explain it?

| Guys, I've tidied this thread up. It's too late on Sunday night to do it nicely so I've just removed the posts.
Apologies to those that lost they're posts because they quoted the original point.
Please read AUP before posting. Think before you post if you want to keep posting.
