| Some great memories there .... I went to many of them!
My first match was Leeds at home in 1972-73, but the first one I remember was Blackpool at home in the Players No.6 Trophy the season after. They won 47-14 and my Dad took me to see Neil Fox play. He dislocated his collarbone and as he was carried off, my Dad said 'savour the moment, youve just seen a superstar, he might never play again'. He ended up playing another 8 years.
Memories, after 1979 was Wally's debut in 1984, Australia in 1990, Wigan at home (25-20 win in 198icon_cool.gif but a big one was an 18-10 away win at Halifax in April 1987. Trevor Bailey was coach and Halifax were the Champions and on their way to Wembley. Trinity were bottom of the league and relegated already. Paul Mallinder was sent off, Johny Lyons was sin brined and beat the Champions away with 11 men

| Quote: Emley Cat "I can't remember mine either but remember the opposition and around 1973 or 74, it was definitely Leigh at home, taken by my dad who of course had seen all the glory years. We definitely won easily 32 - 6 or something close to that score, I'm sure someone can enlighten me on the exact information, wish I'd kept a record of every game now, so many wonderful memories and even better my boy is hooked too just like I was so he'll also be able to look back with fondness supporting our wondeful team.'"
According to the Trinity Programmes site then I guess it was one of these two
1973/74 9 Dec 1973 Home Leigh League 26 8 Won
1974/75 28 Sept 1974 Home Leigh John Player 44 10 Won
What a great source of information that website is!

| My father used to tell me my first game was Batley away in 1956, that was Sir Neil's debut game. The first game I really remember was Wembley in 1960 v Hull.

| First game, York away 1965 with my grandad, lunch in the Griffin and over the road to catch the bus.
Games to remember;
Huddersfield away November 1967, again with grandad but his last game before his death.
Hull away 1981 winning 5-2 to go top of the league
Leeds away Easter Tuesday 2005,only went because I'd been arguing with the wife. We'd had a crap season and a thrashing looked on the cards but guess what; the mighty Trin gave them a hell of a beating.Never mind Cas, they're still the buggers to beat.

| Sometime in the mid fifties.
Remember names such as Eric Cooper on the wing.
Don Frogget, always seemed to be going off injured.
Ken Trail and his booming long passes.
Frank Mortimer at full back, then Don Metcalfe.
Of course biggest memory of all was the young Neil Fox.
My dad being a Sharlstoner and involved in schoolboy coaching had tracked Neils career and was always adamant that he was heading for the top.

Thanks for that Fordy, it was a sunny day and quite warm so it must have been the John Player Trophy match for my first Trinity game. A few of my faves over the years: Sheffield in the Yorkshire Cup final, beating Wigans team of superstars when Steve Ella was majestic, beating Leeds at home when we were miles behind and Michael Jackson scored the winning try late on and Leeds again a couple of seasons ago when Tronc played and Broughy starred, these are just a few of many that stick in the memory, I must check out this website with all the past results, it sounds amazing.

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

We were losing at half time and didn't look in it. Then came back and stole it with two late tries. Think we won 14-12? Atmosphere was great that day and one of my favourite matches.

Would that be Lyndsey Rotherforth?
We also had Tracey Lazenby who played a range of positions including stand off. I never forget hearing that he was seen knocking back a couple of whiskeys in the bar at Oldham prior to coming out half an hour later to play at The Watersheedings. I can't confirm that, but heard it from a few people who claimed to have seen it.

so we won by a drop goal
bovril
I'd be lying if I could remember my first game, what I do remember though is my dad carrying a old wooden orange box for me to stand on and walking through the passage way where the bar was to switch ends
it always seemed packed
