| If the U20's had all those penalties and you think that Wigan had an extra player on the field (Ref), does that not show how well the team really played!! And I do not feel it is disrespectful for the coach to go up to the referee - he needs to know what the team is doing wrong(the Refs point of view) to be able to correct the fault. And who better to ask!

| Agree 100%, they did play well, unfortunately the ref was not consistant in his decissions, what was a penalty against wakefield was not against wigan, the 2nd sin binning was bemusing to say the least as no warning was given and no indication as to why he was binned made by the ref (I heard someone say it was due to the player "reffing the game" )
In a game where the penalty count is so skewed you would expect the side with the most penalties against to be on the loosing side, the fact they won shows how much better at playing rugby they were than the ref gave them credit for

Totally agree the coach does need to know what his side is getting penalised for, but the way in which Glen approached the ref does not set a good example. Unlike what 'financialtimes' states Glen did race over to the ref showing his frustration, I understand it is hard when the ref was a total clown but maturity and composure would be best. Wait until your inside and go to the ref's changing room and ask for a word to clarify the problems. I have no problem with Glen at all, and think he will develop into a good coach once he realises he is not a player now and his frustrations must be put across in a more positive manner.

That seems an infinitely more sensible response that suggesting that he's a moron who should be banned from the game.
Hare&hounds - you're obviously connected to the Wigan camp in some way; care to elucidate?

| Glen had every right to confront the ref. The chicken wing was blatant and could very easily have caused serious injury.
If the ref is not going to protect the players from these incidents who is?

| just a few things that need clearing up
The chicken wing which i believe was on grayston, was blatently a penalty to wakefield, and being it the referees responsability to look after the players, morrison had a right to walk over to the ref. secondly, as i was stood next to the dugout where the incident occoured, it was isaac john that got penalised for mouthing at the ref, not grayston. i feel he was right to do so as he was looking after one of the younger players.
as for saying morrison should be banned from the game, thats the best joke ive heard all day. if half of the first team had as much passion for the sport as he does, we would probably be in the top 8. which is why the u20s are in a play off position!! morrison is a great coach with plenty of experience to give to the younger players, and if they take it im sure they wont go far wrong.
RA needs to give these youths a chance with a playoff place seemingly out of reach, and build on next year. a great win for them and they played some excellent rugby, both in attack and defence.
