That is a complete and utter joke, lawn tennis & pie man need to go coming up with bizarre crap like that.
If they want to do franchising, DO IT PROPERLY kicking teams out is not how you expand a league, or a sport, you get a core group (the current 14) then add a team every so often like the NRL & American sports, not every 3 years after making clubs spend millions on improvements just to be ignored.

No, he hasn't. He said it "may" be time to go but he's unsure at this moment in time.

Without turning this into another stadium thread, the council went back to the original 2m each thing between the clubs.

Presume it relates to the loan of the parcel of land. The most interesting thing in that article was RW admitting he did not know yet how much the stadium would cost but was basing it roughly on what Chesterfields cost as it is similar !!!

| Quote Fully="Fully"I concur although I think the RFL will invite Toulouse in and kick both of us out regardless of circumstances.
That way they get the expansion again in Super League to benefit the French and they get a Rhubarb Triangle derby in the Championship to raise crowds and profile in the lower league (and also to maintain rivalry).'"
Good point. An easy way of raising the profile of the Championship, and a good way for us to train on our own youngsters and the wannabes from Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield for a SL career. Put your RFL-tinted specs on and you can't really argue against it, can you?

| Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if teams had already been told, would a sponsor really agree a big deal with a team (Cas new one the biggest in club history, one of the biggest in SL) and would teams go about signing a fair few players when they aren't certain about what league the team will be in in just over a years time, because on the other hand, would the clubs accept deals with get out clauses for the players/sponsors.

=#FF4000It won't, because there are already more than enough of them, and any more stuff added to it will simply get deleted from this thread.

Whilst you may be able to claim its the biggest in Cas history, not sure how you know what everyone elses sponsorship deals are worth to be able to claim it is one of the biggest in SL

A sponsor will agree a deal with any team on the basis of the package they're sold. It isn't the responsibility of the RFL to inform potential sponsors of whether or not the team they're sponsoring will be playing in the top flight for the next few seasons or not.

Because it's Gaslight? He probably signed the deal off.
And regards his post, I disagree. A club tries to improve itself by increasing revenues, sponsorships and squads as it is all information they can include when it comes to licensing time. A company invests in a club to raise its own profile, don't think it cares what division they are in come a year's time (unless they sponsor for more than one year).
