Yep, me too. At the short notice the club have had it would be the best way to acknowledge the academy's fantastic achievement and to drum up a crowd for next week's match.

Quote: Rogues Gallery "A lot will depend on injuries.

Liam Farrell got injured in the reserves today.
Ainscough is also out for the season as is Stuart Howarth.
Mossop and Flanagan have been moved up to first team to accommodate injuries there.

That means that the U18 lads have to move up to reserve level.

Not excuses just an explanation.

If Wigan could play the five or six U18 players that played at reserve level today and beat Wire 66 - 6 IMO they would win the U18 academy comp.

It'll be interesting to see how they mix n match in the play off games as it looks as though they have the top spot at reserve level won.'"

Yeah think there will be a few injuries. I have heard there were a few for the u18's wire side on Saturday against Wigan, wrong end of the season for injuries. Hope all who have been in all these very good teams make speedy recoveries in time for playoffs, I think they are in 4 weeks but not sure... icon_smile.gif

Wire U18's I heard had a few injuries on Saturday mate against Wigan, so think it will be a tough game against your guys. Hoping all teams involved recover in time for playoffs though as should be interesting....

is there any report on the game ? Like who scored the trys etc. Because on the website, it states academy, and puts a report on about the reserve game icon_confused.gif

Their 50-18 success, coupled with nearest rivals Warrington Wolves losing to Wigan Warriors, means that with one game left of the season the Wildcats sit three points clear at the top of the league.

Their final game comes against Warrington Wolves next Saturday at the Hearwell Stadium before a three week break ahead of the play-offs.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled. For 27 - 0 you get a trophy For 75 - 0 you get sod all. Wigan had eight in a row Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg

Quote: snowie "you had a bit of a bummer today you beat wires but still dropped a position with bradford getting a higher score line, do you think that you can still do it, leeds yes but saints are a good side and bradford haven't given up yet you do have a game in hand'"

Wiganreserves have now finished topat reserve level. They play their last league game v Cas on Sunday.

The academy games v Saints and Leeds are later next week, so we should be able to pay some of the U18's that heve had to play in the reserves.

So if you can beat Wire then I fancy Wigan to finish second.

It will depend when the game is. We go on holiday on 17th Sep. for two weeks.
If it doesn't clash with those dates I'll probably come over and let you buy me a beer. icon_wink.gif

the academy's last league game against the warrington wolves on saturday afternoon 2-30 kick off,

well worth the entry fee but wonder if the club will open its gates so it might encourage some that have not seen these lads play, would be nice to see a good crowd icon_biggrin.gif

An announcement to publicise this to the bumper crowd at the last home game might have been an idea.
