That's one of the stupidest things I've read on here in a good while.
As of now, Max Jowitt has stepped in and made a real impact in the halves - one of the most demanding positions on the field - up there with FB as it happens, so he's no stranger to that kind of pressure. For me, the most effective looking partnership we've had thus far has been Miller and Jowitt, so I'd be disappointed if Broughy walked back into that role and Jowitt didn't feature. If we're looking to the future, maybe Broughy's injury has completed the jigsaw in terms of HB - with young Connor Bailey waiting in the wings, getting rave reviews as a potential understudy?

Just been reading CC comments in league Express, seems Brough and Fifita are both available for Friday. I think both should be playing in this game, just to get a game before the cut and thrust of Super league. Nothing wrong with rotation to keep some players fresh and on their toes.

This is what redders has tried to point out, that no matter how good a game he has he is unable to pin down a regular spot, don't you think your post is a bit contradictory by calling his post rubbish and then in the next breath complementing him on his new found partnership with Miller as well as admitting your disappointment if Brough gets in before him having by your own admission has played really well, go back to the time when he played really well only for Grix to take his place when fit, this is what Redcat is trying to say, so maybe his opinion is not as stupid as first thought.

Think its an accumulation of things as far as Max goes, there was the Grix thing when Max was playing well and he was dropped for Grix. Then Hampshire came (No doubting he played extremely well at FB!) but Max found himself 2nd fiddle again, then Walker was signed, obviously destined for the FB role, Max misses out again!
Now he's been asked to fill in at HB and has done so admirably but I fear he will be dropped for Brough.
For me, if the club see him as a utility player then fine, worth his wait in gold - as long as Max continues his allegiance to the club once his contract ends!

Grix was better than Jowitt at the time - I don't really see how anyone can argue with that; so it makes perfect sense that Grix was first choice.
This time around, it should be a trickier decision, because Broughy wasn't exactly on fire pre-injury, and Jowitt is doing very well; so yes, I'll be disappointed if he steps aside, and I see no contradiction between that and my original point.
What's stupid is to suggest that CC has a grudge against Max Jowitt; it's patently and self-evidently stupid.

I have a lot more faith in Max under the high ball or one on one tackling than I ever did in Grix. Grix was always bound to cock up every match.

| I think Jowitt has done a good job but I think it seems better than it is because it was a nice surprise. I'd still be happier with Broughy there I think and probably Max to fullback as he's playing better than Walker.

| I read elsewhere today that Broughy will have to fight his way back into the team - from CC!
So,it seems things are as they should be, that's what competition is all about after all.

Bearing in mind Brough has played 34 minutes this season before getting jnjured and trying to run it off so I think your comment is flawed.

And he also had a great game, remember watching the game back and noticing how many chances he created - some proper last ditch tackling by KR was all that kept us out on a few occasions.

In your opinion Grix was better than Jowitt at the time, which I suppose validates your self evidently stupid biased opinion that nobody can argue with that or your opinion, well there are plenty on here would argue that it does not make sense that Grix was first choice, so just to sum up then, it was alright to put Grix straight back in the side irrespective of Jowitts form but you would find it disappointing if Jowitt got dropped and not stepped aside for Brough, and you don't find that contradictory.
Maybe Redcaps suggestion that Chester has a grudge against Jowitt is off the mark, but to a lot of people on here it seems that he's just a stop gap used by Chester as and when, which as the coach is down to him which if your a Jowitt fan makes it also patently evidently stupid.

Was this when we played Salford, in the league and then the Cup.
Jowitt was mom in the league encounter and then left out for the cup game (may have been the other way round).
It was certainly harsh treatment for the lad and right now, he should be given as long as possible in his current role.
Certainly our attack is more potent than it has been with either Hampshire or Brough in the halves.
Mind you, Brough brings more with his kicking game and Hampshire with his speed / elusive skills but, we have to stick with what we have.
There is still improvement in the Miller /Jowitt partnership.
Miller seems a better player when he's allowed to play, something which, with Brough in the side, he doesn't always seem to do.

Ever since his injury last year Brough’s kicking game hasn’t fairedd better than Hampshire’s or Miller’s or Jowitt’s.
