There's not a single Wakey fan who was at that game today that thinks this result was down to James Child.
Be gracious, you were the better side today by a country mile and deserved the win. I think even you would have to admit that we made a lot of errors and we probably made it far too easy for you, but you took full advantage so fair play to you.

What a totally depressing day. Michael Carter must be gutted that the potential crowd puller v Saints has now been wiped off.

So Webster manages something even Agar couldn't conjure up. A thrashing by Widnes. These games against potential fellow basement dwellers are crucial. Haven't felt this bad after a game since?????? I can't chuffin remember!

Simple truth Widnes turned up on fire and Wakey turned up asleep and we got what we deserved a good old fashioned thrashing

That pretty much sums it up.

We always come unstuck when we start believing we're world beaters. We got one or two unlucky bounces of the ball, but Widnes were making ground and we weren't. One of the most inept performances for a long time. I don't think Webster can cop any blame. It was individual stuff each time. The start of the second half summed it up. The slim chance of a comeback, fired up after a half-time roasting, blown when Hall sent the kick off straight into touch.

I can deal with "just one of those days", but it came at a bad time. It will cost the club money on Friday, when the floating fan decides to save his or her twenty quid and watch it on the telly.

Webster reckoned on Radio Leeds after game that Anderson could be 2 months. He didn't mention other players individually but did say we'd picked up some knocks.

You would of thought the tremendous reception the team received from the travelling fans would have 'fired' them up.
But no. The Wakefield way, is as ever, to undo any good that has been done!

The vast majority of those 17 players will have to play in 4 days time against St.Helens due to injuries or players on loan.

If outmuscled against Widnes then what about the massive Saints pack?

With Anderson getting injured for 2 months it gives a chance to Michael Simon to impress and show his strong running against the best team in super league. If Kirmond also has a knock then I'd leave him out of this one and straight swap with Ashurst.
