Quote: REDWHITEANDBLUE "I would personally like to record my thanks to JK and his backroom team for the last 5 years or so.

It has without doubt been a roller coaster. Sport like fans has short memoties basically the last result and the next game the rest is history!

What a roller coaster this has been the highs the season John came and we kept our SL place. getting to the semi final of the CC the play off games aqll great memories

The lows some of the tonkings we have had but all clubs get thrashed, this season where I believe the staff have had a hand in not two tied behind their backs as far as experienced playing staff were concerned, on a hiding to nothing we have however won 6 games and that could be 7 tonight (most fitting)

The dignity of Kohn and his leadership with others I might add through terrible times and terrible news in particular deaths of players s
well said, Thanks John without you we would not have survived that first season, the tragedies etc. Good luck in the future., Sue Parker

Cheers John and good luck in whatever you choose to do next, it's been a rollercoaster of a ride while you've been here but I've had some real great memories to savior. It's a real shame these last two years have had more downs than ups and that's been mostly out of your control but again you've done your last game of the season magic again, Thanks a lot mate.

Good luck JK, hope you enjoy a successful future whatever path it takes. Not may people could have kept this club together with the loss of 2 players under such tragic circumstances and the the financial constraints faced especially the budget given by the previous regime for this year. Travellimg to Cardiff we didn't know if we would have a club to support in SL and everyone said we would finish bottom but you proved them wrong. Well done to you and well done to AG for having the courage to take over a SL club.

Good luck & thankyou for the last 6 seasons. A lot of people will remember the Cas game as been your finest moment but for me I think the win at Odsal was the defining moment. I remember after the game all the Wakey fans were delirious after the final whistle beating one of the top 4 on there own patch, but I remember JK been calm & just saying that the jobs only half done (the only cool calm Wakey person in Bradford)
He has also seen more adversity in his Wakey career than all the present SL coaches have seen in their coaching lives, with the sudden deaths of 3 players, needing to get 6 points out of 10 in his first 5 games, administration/points deduction no money & staring down the barrel of losing out on the SL franchise, he has seen it all.
So whatever JK does next in his life (bear baiting ,crocodile hunting etc) I`m sure he will find it a lot easier than coaching Wakey.

There have been some memorable times with John at the helm - from that first night at Cas winning with only 11 men.

A CC semi-final and a play-off were the undoubted highlights but there have been a number of great (and unexpected wins) e.g. first match at Wigan following Adam's death.

As the public face of the club John brought us through the tragic events of 2008 and 2009 with great dignity.

Thanks John and good luck with whatever you do in the future.

Delighted that the players dug deep one more time to give JK the positive send-off he deserves.

Thanks for guiding this club calmly through troubled times, John, and all the best for the future.

John Kear has been the best coach Wakefield Trinity have had in my 23 years of supporting, and if the choice was mine he'd be given another 3 years. The Castleford game will always be the stand out moment for me, but he's also been a class above when dealing with the tough times the club had faced, and there has certainly been a few. I hope he stays in the game, but I would love to see him in the Sky commentery box on a permanent basis. Great guy, great coach and I wish him all the best in the future. And what a way to finish, with both a peformance and result to be proud of.

The rugby has been poor this season, but so have the players. I think he's over achieved this year with the squad he's had, and I cannot think of one coach since I started going in 1988 who I would have over Kear.

only problem is that he has had no money whilst with us..i wonder if we could have done better but after 5 years i think that it is time to move on. i wish jk well at batley next season and thank him for all that he has done for us..
