I’ve not seen or heard MC or CB or the trust say Balne Lane can’t happen. As for access/parking it would be easily sorted with parking restrictions around stadium and you can’t get better access than City Centre for parking and transport links. If it doesn’t happen it won’t be because of lack of access it will be the same reason nothing has happened with the other proposals.
If we don’t get stadium sorted it’s the end of the club certainly as a SL club simple as that. Belle Vue would be the quickest solution but it’s been nearly a year since that was announced and even mannis cryptic tweets have stopped. Just hope we are looking into every avenue (providing we can get access)

Nothing will happen with this proposal just like the others, but just to repeat it for arguments sake there is no access down there!

| As has been mentioned Balne Lane is not viable, plenty of land but rubbish access.
End of story.
Mr.Box is just waiting for us to fade into the Championship, then he can give his beloved Cas the ground they are after.
And it will go hand in hand with all the other attractions at Junction 32.
If we did get a ground built at Newmarket, I hope it wouldn't be surrounded by office units and their would be leisure facilities to make the experience more appealing.

The emboldened part is the interesting bit, how near to the 60,000 sq metres with the add ons and the projected parts do we get to the magical figure?

| Oh I dunno what the sketch is with trigger points and sq meterage, its all a load of crap being used as an escape from fulfilling obligations.
It isn't about trigger points and sq meterage, if it were and the conmen who are conducting this orchestra, had any intention at any time during the past god knows how long to build it, something would have already happened.
Its not like they don't want to develop the site is it, the trigger points appear completely moot considering the potential of the site.
So we're down to the waiting it out thing, they want us to become irrelevant to the development and will wait as long as it takes.
Even if you chuck in a trigger point reached factor, who actually thinks that will move them to start building, who actually thinks there is any mechanism to force them, there isn't and they won't.
Only Wakefield Council can sort this out, unfortunately they're ******* useless, I'm past Box having some anti Trinity agenda, I think like most Councils they're just p155 poor, not much is gonna change there such is the dynamics of forcing accountability.

| Just read Nosey Parkers story of a 'breakthrough' on the stadium front for Wakefield. In it he mentions Balne Lane which has been doing the rounds for a few weeks now so hardly a scoop. But what finally made me consign it to the bin marked 'Nonsense' was when he described the site as being, "Just a mile from the city's [i thriving[/i shopping centre ".
Now I'm all for talking things up, but 'thriving' is not a word I'd use when talking about our shopping centre.

Haha Just where exactly is Wakefield shopping 'Centre' I wander. Perhaps it's the precinct 'market' he refers to!
'Thriving' was an apt adjective years ago, before the council slowly dismantled it.

Trinity Walk is just as `thriving` as any other shopping centre I have been to, I don`t think there is an empty unit there and is always packed come the weekend.

Yeah, thriving is overdoing it for the City as a whole but it does say shopping , which I presume means Trinity Walk. Tbh though there's not many City's and towns thriving in the Country bar a few atm.
Saying that I had to go uptown during the dinner time on Friday and I was really surprised how busy it was, with all the little stalls on the precinct and outside the cafes near the Cathedral and up to Trinity Walk, it was fairly packed.

| I'm sure Donald Trump has a suitable word to describe Wakefield City centre.

Trinity Walk alone is a small part of the city centre and to be honest does nothing for me.

But NP`s comment was not about the city centre as a whole, it may not do anything for you but does not mean its not thriving - The amount of people through its doors and attraction of the big retailers proves it is.
Granted the introduction of TW was the last nail in the coffin for the Ridings centre but it was on it`s way out anyway. As a whole there is no denying Trinity Walk attracts more visitors to Wakefield.
FWIW it is not for me either, I am gutted there is no longer the market in the city which leaves me going to Huddersfield on a Saturday morning.
