See how long the natives are quiet if we go through a rough patch, it’s all part of the mix , great game ,great food and great hospitality all go hand in hand to maximise revenue , but at the top of the pile for me is a competitive team that entertains and the rest follows on |

I agree. But the reverse applies too.
They'll stop coming if the product on the field isn't good, but they'll reach a ceiling if we are successful on the field and not off it.
And in the past 40-50 years that ceiling has been about 5k. |

Correct but since the 1960’s we haven’t truly had a dominant team. I know we got to Wembley in 79 with a quickly assembled and even quicker dismantled team but for 44 years nothing major to shout about.
I’ve said it many times before how many clubs would hang onto the fan base we have, having won sod all (major) for over 50 years? Probably none. |

This is where it'll be interesting what happens at Leigh these next few years. If they can maintain a top 5 spot and get their academy sorted out etc it'll be interesting to see what levels their support will get to before it tops out. Or has the mass influx of fans, purely been down to the fact it's almost come out of nowhere and because of the novelty factor of playing good RL and winning something?
If they just maintain their SL position for the next couple of years, will that be enough to keep all those extra fans that jumped on the bandwagon to keep coming? I'll be genuinely interested to see how it plays out for them. |
