100% correct he had a mare but it happens, ther were some pretty awful performances and some guys really stood up to be counted.

3 things cost us the game mistakes, appalling last tackle sets and poor discipline. The former just happen but the latter is just a recurrent and perennial problem.

Ashurst stripped twice, max didn’t kill ball, kicked out on the full possibly should have done better on turners try, Lino generally non existent, Johnson never got a pass. Can’t fault the effort and thought we were a bit unlucky with some of the 50/50 s but once again another self. Inflicted defeat.

Tupo who was one of our most dangerous players looks like he’s had a season ending knee cap injury

To be fair on Lino we went left and he was on the right. We attacked towards a bright sun in the sky. I had my hand up most of the first half trying to block it out. It must have been even worse for the players. 4 times we butchered the attack that way but didn’t learn our lesson and hit the right instead. Cas knew this and most of their attack was right. As much as Miller played ok I think he stifled our attack and cuts Lino out too much at times

Think to single max out over his mistakes Is IMO a bit unfair after watching that inept performance from the majority of the team .Millar went ok ,kelepi ran well,kershaw is improving ,Lino was awol,Westerman was well looked after ,big dave pushed a few people on the floor but also lost the ball whilst doing it on a few occasions, Tom might as well have stopped at home. To say we bulled it up as a derby game , pre season friendly best describes that performance .
3 coaches masterminded that performance last night and it all started from when we got our first set of 6 after a Cas mistake at the very start and made a right hash of our first attack,and that theme followed on throughout the game .we’ve seen what they can do when up for the fight ,unfortunately that’s not very often in these recent times

I think the improvements Max has shown over the last year think he deserves his place only a couple of games ago he was linking our attack crucially. He had a mare last night but that can happen.
