| I agree there were grub tactics being shown by Catalan last night.
One that I don't think has been mentioned is that often in the tackle the Catalan player tried to lunge forward after the tackle was completed and deliberately push the marker backwards. They got a few penalties by doing this and the ref seemed oblivious to this tactic.

Or blatantly moving off the mark to ensure that a player on the ground was interfering (we did manage to gain a penalty ourselves in the second half using the same tactic).
I'm not sure that Kershaw had full control last night but, at least the Fifita try went to the VR as "try", that was a huge call for us and he blocked Tomkins , although no way would Tomkins have prevented the try.

| Get big Dave signed up, everything about him is brilliant. Big minutes, carries well, wins penalties (more players need to wriggle when tackled as it wins penalties) and a try which to be honest he shouldn't be allowed to score!

My thought was that Tomkins aimed for him on purpose - possibly because he knew he wasn’t going to stop the try and thus having an excuse.

| Just a thought. Did anyone see how Hicks ended up on the floor against Saints. I just saw when him getting up right in front of the North stand but no doubt the RFL will be monitoring incidents involving the ref

what was even more funny was the nice shiner that tomkins was wearing

Thought the commentary said Hicks had just fallen over.

If the ref isn't sure what has gone on, he can ask to see the "incident" again and then rule on what he sees.
There were 3 or 4 late hits on Trinity players after the ball had gone and I think that only one was penalised.
I know there is a balance between letting the play flow and stopping the game for infringements but, this would help clean up some of the stuff that went on last night.
I know that Catalan have always played this way and the 4 players they have from Wigan will be well versed in the dark arts but, McNamara hasn't coached his previous sides in that style, so, why now ?'"
That's the way Wane coached 'em and it's hard to get it out of their systems. I don't think it's McNamara's style.

The obstruction was unfortunate but he didn't have a replay blew for what he saw.'"
Any other ref would have allowed play to go on and then used the VR though. If he thought it was obstruction then send it up as "No Try" but to blatantly ignore using the VR in that circumstance was wrong IMO. It might not have made a difference and VR might have proved him right but when you consider the times they do use the VR then to not use him for that was just wrong.

| Said exactly the same Fordy, he also took the Tom. Decision upstairs when any fool could see he was easily in and he had a cracking view yet gave no try. The man is a donkey.
