Agreed, it's the Trinity way to make heavy weather out of these types of games.

| Well nobody's hitting their straps yet so its the same for everyone.
I get the feeling that if we don't make much improvement from the first two games, the next team who can string a decent 80 minutes together, whoever that is, will make it really tough for us to get the two.
Watching wire and widnes tonight there were tons of dropped ball, wayward passes and penalties, the league is still doing that in game 3, wire looked to have clocked that a little in the 2nd half.
As ever, saying it is one thing.....doing it is something else..etc

| Well, if this one goes to form, it will be another 2 points to Trinity and 3/3 would be phenomenal (albeit against teams that are expected to finish in the lower half of the league).
However, this is Wakefield, a club that has traditionally struggled with the "favourite" tag and Catalan certainly have the personnel to compete against any side in SL.
Having said that, this year feels different and I dont see Trinity going "soft" and they will be ready to play when they get to Perpignan.
Competition for places is fierce and everyone will want a shirt for the Huddersfield and Wigan games that follow.
26 12 to Trin and Bird to get binned (or sent off)
The down side is that we're over there in February and I cant make it
Come on Trin !

Like most fans I'm a bit superstitious and I'll be happy to see the back of the next couple of games. I just remember 2015 and starting just like this.
I know it's a whole different scenario but old habits and fears die hard.
I reckon our pessimism in situations like this is down to past experience. Coming up from behind is usually the Trinity way, leading from the front is just something we are not used to. We expect our teams to self destruct at some point and they often do.
In a way we are as much the problem as anything else - we need to learn to be more positive even in defeat - not an easy task for any of us.
At the end of the day it's just a silly game but if we didn't take it overly serious then what would be the point. At least for once we are worried that we may not be as good as we think rather than being far worse than we feared

I agree, it's the whole optimism vs pessimism thing.
The wheels have come off so many times over the years, especially during the SL era.
We used up so many of the Cats lives that we had to change the name and now we appear to be building something good (apart from a new ground).
I guess time will tell.
Is this a real new era or, are we going to lose the spare wheel, as well.
What we have now certainly seems a whole lot better and hoping for 3/3 is a whole world away from having to sell a different player every week, just to cover the wage bill.

| Out of the 2 clubs Cats have the most ground to make up, don't think or hope they can improve that much to take the game and 2 points. However if they get off to a good start and start to throw the ball around who knows, I tend to think they will try and grind a result out.
Get in to them early doors and they will crumble, start giving silly penalties away and struggle .
Trinity must play a more controlled game and not try to push it,

| In commentary this week, I'm sure Hemmings said that Catalans were expecting a few back this week. Don't know who they are or what difference they could make, but this season already looks like a car crash for them!
I dont see how they could turn it around in such a short time unless their imports decide they wanna start earning their wages. As mentioned earlier just hoping that the wheels don't come off, but surely if it's gonna happen it'll happen the week after against the midgets, now they are our bogey team!

I don't really think a defeat would mean no top four spot! I would much rather take a defeat but see us playing better as a team with hope for better things to come.

| The one thing that’s almost certain is that there will be a lot of penalties , Catalans have given the second highest number away at 29 and wakefield third at 22 , only Warrington have given more away
Also sounds like mcolorum will be back so that s hardly likely to improve their discipline , think it will be a niggley I’ll tempered game and that’s just the supporters
