Very accomplished performance against s capable group of Widnes players... who are not far off a decent set of results....


Three things:

1) how good is Scott Grix ????
2) loved the patience we showed ... especially in defence
3) the contribution of Craig Huby is huge


And 3a) Leegan Hirst is really taking his chance well

Grix isn't the best player that ever played for Wakefield but he is one of the best signings.
He has made a team with potential function like a team with fast attack and disciplined defence. We really haven't had a player who influences the game as much as this in decades.

Ere....would we like to see Fifita at the board with John Wells doing the post match analysis....lol

John Wells is excellent btw, he has buckets of enthusiasm without going uber tech with his analysis bullet points..

Yes it's irritating that Sky clearly recognise the attritubutes of a good presenter/pundit in employing Carney and Wells yet still insist on giving us Barrie and Terry.

Personally I never get involved with talking about individual players on here whether it be good or bad, I sooner leave it to others to do that, Vasty for one has sang long and loud and taken quite a bit of ridicule in the defence of players at this club like Grix, Finn and others who for no reason at all came under unwarranted criticism, it's good to see him proved right although I don't see many queuing up wanting to admit he was right all along with these players

For me Fifita had a good game however I would have given Grix man of the match, I thought he was highly influential on our result.

BTW I loved BJB etc impersonating Spider Man web spinning after scoring a try.

I will certainly say he was right.
I always said Finn would and was good but I thought Grix would be backup.
I'm not sure anyone including Vasty expected it to work out quite this good though.

Becoming really a fans favourite.

Like the way he stays out longer at the end applauding the fans.

Fifita deserves his contract and will probably settle down now. Great playet.

Nobody can be totally sure any player will be a success ditto nobody can be sure they will fail though some on here seem to think they know best.

What I did know is Finn was smart. Fundamentally he's all wrong, he's to slow, he's a bit to squat in shape, he's not agile - he has nothing but his brain and that's what's given him a career. Unlike every other attribute a player can have it's the only one that continually improves (unless you're Hock or Chase) - something that had left him and a number of British players under rated. At the end of 2015 what we needed more than anything was a calm player who'd been around the block and in no way felt himself to good for us - for me he was a perfect choice. As were Woods and Grix, it's not all about physicality. Hudds have made a good choice with Ridyard.

The game needs to start looking deeper when signing players.
