| Quote vastman="vastman"Funny that, heard exactly the same story about Dean Sampson many times but never heard it about Ward - think you might be wrong on that one.'"
If I remember correctly Kev was a promising soccer player in Stanley. He decided to have a game of rugby league with Stanley Rangers & took to it like a duck to water.I played against him a couple of times as an amateur and though he was raw I thought he was class. Why Wakey didn't get him who knows but I think probably there reputation at that time went against them. Quite a lot of promising junior amateur players in the Wakefield area were missed for one reason or another and went on to other top pro. clubs in Rugby League and were very successful.

It's very true, Chairman said Ward wouldn't be big enough!

Both of then were Stanley lads, bur it's the Dean Sampson version I always heard - but I bow to your greater knowledge unless we made the same mistake twice!!

Did not know that - if you'd have asked me to guess a player Ward would have been right at the bottom, doesn't look like a footballer at all.

He certainly didn't when he had finished his Rugby League career.

| Yes this one as been doing the rounds for quite sometime and have no doubt it will come to fruition. It does suggest the end for Godinet because he will not want to play back up to Moore, Howarth and Sio and you rarely carry a reserve half back on the bench. I know Sio can play 13 but it still leaves Moore and Howarth.
A signing we do not require but it appears to follow our current recruitment plan but I hope it is wrong unless we can swap Howarth for him.

| Howarth was bobbins the 1st time round, the second time round he is just as bobbins as the 1st time. Pointless signing. Another example of a Championship player Masquerading in Super League. Scott Moore is slightly less bobbins, but beggars can't be choosers and all that.

| I can see Moore playing 9 and Sio going to 13 the Sio to 13 would offset the loss of Washbrook. Howarth aint a class act but tries and will be a bit part player I would think as for Godinet I like the player but there has not been a rush of clubs for his services. Scott Moore on song is a class above what we have had for a few years at 9 and I'm sure Brian Smith can bring the best out of him.
