If you were at the game, the analyst on Sky got it right on the money.

He was saying that wakefeld's plays were, other than slow, really predictable. Their power-plays were down the right every time, which is fine if you then mix up the following play. ---though eventually they used Ali down the left near the line, and the try he scored was similar to Ryan's last week at Salford

5: drop off into the middle to set up the kick

it made the bradford defence look sensational - in hindsight I'd have not played Sammut cause there was no cohesion there at all - and Sykes as a centre IMO is past it.

Walshaw should've been centre for me, I dunno where Matt Ryan should play

Was at the game and not watched it back yet but you don't have to be Wayne Bennett to have seen what was happening there. Why when it was obviously not working we didn't switch back to sykes at stand off I don't know. Walshaw could have played centre and we could have switched Godinet to hooker to give McShane a breather.

Just get Sammut off, it clearly wasn't working out this early, walshaw into the centres for sykes and then use Ryan in the second row - that away you could've utilised your interchanges a whole lot better - then as you say, if needs be, spell Sammut with McShane (just for this game as a one off)

Either way matey, I think the tactics were bang out last night, or the players didn't play them correctly.

We need to give agar a chance to get it right but we do need to sort it quickly. Half a dozen more games like that and it may just be too late, we'll give ourselves too much to do.

Doubt we'll be facing their academy mate. Our overseas players proved at Salford that you can get off a plane and play a few days later to a good standard. Even after their travels Wigan will be much too good for us i'm afraid, it will though serve a good purpose in trying to build some combinations.

I think there's a mixture of views here that are right on different counts.

Yesterdays loss was set up on Sunday - I haven't watched the Bulls/Cas game, but I doubt very much it would come even close to this intensity of ours at Salford - that was as tough as it gets physically. Add to that the want/need to introduce our new 'star' signing and it ends up in a buggers muddle - most of it not in anyones control!

However, I have to say that there are some things we could have done better IMO, such as using Matty Wildie, Briscoe and even Trout to try and keep things fresh and, whilst he made an almighty boo-boo, I think Agar seemed very unfair on Walshaw who played well on Sunday, with the net result being that we were effectively a man down for most of the match!

On the Ali thing - as well as keeping him fresh for our 'big' games, I want to see our players try and play without being able to just 'give it to Ali'. We used to do the same with Solo and it doesn't work every time. In the 2 games we've played, in both second halves, we have not used Collis hardly at all. We are blessed in having such quality on our right side attack and we need to use it better.

Finally, and this is related to the Walshaw issue, are we trying to kill Kirmo. He gives his all, and more, but he is not super-human and he needs to come off when he is knackered.

So, some issues with coaching, but not enough to throw baby out with the bathwater - we just need to be a bit smarter in the circumstances. Timing etc will come and there is plenty of good football in this squad.

There are two games gone.
Makes me laugh how many other club fans think they are not going to be in the poop.
Cas v Bulls was just as much a relegation battle as ours.

I agree Pop's - though moreso if we would have got beaten.

I've seen enough in week one that we played in 2nd gear against Bradford and won, so it's certainly within my team to pull away from the drop with comparitive ease.

That being said, I will start looking up instead of down when the gap is 8-10 points... as yet it's 2.
