| Quote: TRB "The club have received one cash offer for a player - that we know of. We also know that Captain Fantastic is wanted at more than one club. Clearly there are opportunities for the club to 'cash in' on one or more of these - and that may yet happen but, in the meantime, they have put out a very fair deal for season tickets, which people have a choice as to whether they take or not, but for those that can afford, they will surely be reducing the pressure to sell.
We will get ours - as we would buy them anyway at some point!'"
I disagree its a fair deal. The price is fair, but the timescale isn't. If the deadline was, say, before the end of the regular season then fair enough, it gives people chance to juggle there finances to try and fit it in. But to give less than a fortnight from the official announcement to the deadline smacks of nothing more than desperation, a last throw of the dice from a management that knows its in it up to its neck.
Sorry but the timing rules me out, and out of principle i won't pay an extra 20% for mine and the missus' tickets later on just because the powers that be have put what i feel is unrealistic timescales in place. So i'll pick and choose next year, but once the habit is broken I might not bother at all. Our household will have spent over a grand on the clib this year, like i do every year and i'm pretty sure i could find something else to spend that on.

Fair point about timescale, a lot of people don't get paid until the last day of the month, so the 22nd could rule quite a few people out.
Does seem a bit of a strange offer, but still good value if you have the money available now.

| Agree with what others have said, if this isn't about needing money quickly, then the instalment option should be made available. After all, if the club are not in desperate need of funds now, why can't people commit now but pay a deposit and the balance on instalments. It is after all the off/next seasons money

| Quote: feline "people around me heard it at the game and pointed out that most fans get paid at the end of the month therefore will not have been paid again before the offer ends. Also folk may have just been or not yet been on their summer holiday so be short of cash . Others may have gone away yesterday for 2 weeks so will miss the offer. There was such an amazing take uo last season I would have thought the fans loyalty would be rewarded by letting them have at least till the end of August to pay at £150 , together we are stronger and all that.'"
This post is a bit glass half empty from you feline
But here is a suggestion to your dilemma. Why not buy it on the credit card and pay it back in a couple of months I am sure the 20% discount would make it financially worthwhile to do that.

| I can't believe people are finding things to moan at with a two week offer to renew for £150.
Wait until they go on general sale at £180 then its still a bargain.
I've said this for ages we should be paying at least £200 for STs if we want to watch a top eight side with any chance of developing any further.
Some of us want everything but are not prepared to pay the going rate.

The price is more than fair, the time frame is concerning. Its very random. It would've made more sense for the deadline to be the end of the month.

Absolutely right - I can't see how this is a negative thing; for those people who have payday timing issues, put it on a card, pay it off when you get paid, avoid the interest. I fail to see how anyone can reasonably expect the club to manage their finances for them - it's another opportunity to get your ST at an absolute bargain price, so it's up to you to make it work!
If I were running the club, I wouldn't be making such a generous discount offer at all - ST's for 2014 would be in the £200 region, with a good range of benefits from commercial partners.

Not sure why you feel the need to get so frustrated with a few people expressing some concerns with this. Of course its a good price but my concern is that this offer just seems to have appeared from nowhere with a very short deadline - it just doesn't feel right to me and doesn't look well planned. For example my parents have just gone on a holiday and will come back to see the news with a day to spare - I doubt my dad is likely to make a snap decision to buy given he has probably spent his spare cash on beer and ice creams.
To me it doesn't make a great deal of difference, I just don't like being rushed into things. But I want the club to succeed and continue to grow and imo the best way to do that is through a consistent season ticket policy where supporters know where they are in terms of price and timescale, so upping the price to £150 on the same terms as last year would be fine. Once the first offer ends you may get those people who won't get a season ticket at as they consider they are paying "over the odds" once the price goes up - that's how some people's minds work. The club obviously doesn't need to sell to you as you would snap buy a season ticket for £200 a year in advance, however there are probably many current ST holders that got season tickets because they were excellent value and these are the people the club needs to encourage to renew without rocking the boat too much imo.
I'm not a moaner, just expressing a different viewpoint to you, if you want to use emoticons banging your head against a wall several times, go ahead.

Weather its well planned, with a short deadline or if its fallen from space - are they really legitimate reasons for people to moan?
If it is because of the "RUMOURED" financial "RUMOURS" so what, the money is going into the club coffersand that may well keep us afloat IF the "RUMOURS"" are true.
At the end of the day it is a ST for £150 for a limited time, if you want and can afford it - get it. If you cant wait until they are £180 and buy one then.
Its not rocket surgery, it doesn't need to be X-Files; it is just a stupidly good offer for a short time.
If i ruled the world and didn't need the dough, we'd all be on the £180 memberships (at least) because the £135k difference would buy a top player or secure the futures of three or four top juniors, and then maybe we might be in a better position on and off the field.

Why, the club are expecting the fans to manage theres for them by unexpectedly releasing the tickets on a date earlier than ever before then giving less than a fortnight to get them in! Why the rush all of a sudden? What do they need the brass for so urgently that the deadline could be until, say, the end of August as would be usual? Surely the uptake would be better this way. I know of 4 people already that won't be getting them in the time frame as the funds are just not there. A little more notice and they without doubt would have.
If they had given notice that the tickets would be out earlier then maybe people could have prepared by not, say, having just put a holiday on said credit card! So if me and the better half get a membership each this year it looks like i'll have to wait til they are more pricey and the gap will be made up by us either not buying a replica shirt each this year or cancelling club 1873. Sadly the club would lose out that way but so be it.
Not everyone has pots of spare cash and credit lying around and if they do they may just have other, more important things that crop up it needs spending on.
