Am I reading the OP wrong? I got the impression that all Oli said was that there was an optional training session! I think the OP added that only 6 turned up!

If I'm right, then some are being very unfair on Oli!

I don't know - as I said, the detail gets lost in translation and when people are hurting after a humiliating defeat, they add their own nuances and infer that those people who weren't present don't care enough.

The way I read the OP, it was that Oli had made the whole statement, so I'm not surprised if others did the same.

I was speaking to Olly Wilkes at the gym yesterday, he is a top guy and has a lot of time for anyone. Even time to make my 21 month old daughter shy, which is a first! His young'un is around the same age and he had a genuine interest.

I also had the privilege to train near them today and I asked him about the session. He said it was optional and when he said that I (That's me) looked around and was surprised to see only 7 players there.

I hardly think what he says warrants him to be slated. It is actually nice that he has time for the fan's rather believing that he is a class above.

He has hardly brought the club into disrepute. Most of the 17 did that pretty well at the weekend.

He hasn't slated (to my knowledge) the coaching staff off or the training regime. I was in close proximity to them for the whole duration in the free weights area and heard nothing of the sort.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, that's 3 players that played against Cas - Annakin, Lyne and Trout.

Also in there were Ben Shulver, Lucas Walshaw and one or 2 other of the less senior players.

I think without knowing what the players were actually told in terms of whether they were expected to be there or not, then this thread is just a bit OTT. Personally I would have had them all in after the performance at the weekend but if they weren't told to be there then slating them is having a go at the wrong person/people IMO.

Well if Mathers or any of the other players read this forum and get the big sulk on about anything then I would say come and face the fans that had to put up with the last few abysmal performances and explain why they played without pride,passion,heart or effort.
