And for that reason we should never change!!!!!!!!

Quote: The Clan "I know but the season is one of the most memorable for obvious reasons and off field it produced a legacy that's so far unmatched.

Most of that decade is memorable for the iconic players that were pictured wearing that famous shirt, Steve Ella, Mark Graham etc'"

in some ways i agree with you, but overall we stank that year. think king wally played 10/11 games, of which we won a fair few. we should also discount the boxing day debarcle that year, and think as to how many games we won when he returned home.....

having wally lewis at the club was brilliant, and as exciting as it gets and i still have really fond memories of that season from the frozen pitch at the recreation ground to his farcical sending off at headingley. however we had some players at the time like nigel stephenson who were simply there for what they could get, and in my opinion didn't always put a full shift in.

there was a smattering of promising youngsters. however we were really feeling the effects of being a selling club at the time. topliss/skeritt/kelly/juliff et al.... sad times masked by the signing of a global star.

Got one from the club shop last weekend, great shirt and looks like the badge is a tad higher then then originally shown.

The shop side of things still looks out of step with the improvements elsewhere at the club, i know its still early days really and in real terms compared to how bad the retail side used to be it has improved.
Everytime i go in there is a different person in, which probably doesn't help, and its difficult to manage when you don't know what your profitability is going to be like, increased costs with the ridings shop, limited interest previously and limited retail history etc.
Its a must to get right though, and the simple things such as stocking what people want to buy, helpful staff and following up on promised phone calls are all basics.

And in this day and age of mass internet shopping having a quality online shop is a must. Ours is, quite frankly, pathetic. The opening page has Tommy Lee, Stuart Howarth & Michael Korkidas sporting last years kit and it kind of goes downhill from there. Either run it properly or remove the option.

Agreed and I think it's something that seriously needs looking at. I have been after a replica ball since before Christmas as a present for my lad as well as a pair of kit socks and I was informed that they would be in soon. Stroll on January I'm then told that they are not getting the socks in after all and that the balls had been printed with the old logo but they would be arriving in a couple of weeks. Called in a couple of weeks later still no news and I left my number but still awaiting a call and to be honest I have given up hope of getting one.

I also think the website needs updating. Click on the shop link and your greeted with a picture of 3 players in last years kit and thats it unless you want to personalize a Wildcats mug or mousemat. Now I am not saying that we have to have an online shop to rival Amazon but all the other clubs seem to have it and I think its a great way of being able to see whats available without having to go into town and in reality a visit to the shop is the only reason I ever feel the need to go into town.

I mentioned the online shop months ago, I think the club have missed a trick with it, especially supporters such as myself who don't live in Wakefield or even West Yorkshire. There should be facilities to buy tickets, merchandise or join a membership scheme. Lots of money has been missed out on here, not to mention it is quite unprofessional.

A quick browse of other clubs websites shows that we are well behind in this aspect.

This needs sorting quickly.

It doesn't fill online shoppers with confidence when the opening page is a season out of date. It gives me the initial feeling that items will be out of stock and that prices may not be correct.

yep, those are the golden rules in retail. same as any other shop or service, if you keep getting let down you stop going. on the other hand if you get good service and value you keep going back and you tend to recommend it to other people.

You can take the man out of Wakefield but you can't take Wakefield out of the man.:Games/PDT_062.gif

Just seen this don't start me off about the shop. I had to order over the phone as I live near London called the shop re new shirt, they couldn't deal with me as it was too busy, so I had to call after it closed which I did. They did not have a list of the 1873 Members behind the counter so they wouldn't give me the discount and they were going to charge me £10 for postage, I told them to stick it and advised James elston. He asked me to send him my email and contact number, which I did, and he would contact me, this was before December and I'm still waiting. Really disappointing level of service and will now wait for the cotton one and do something for charity.
