| Quote cod'ead="cod'ead"I've said this on more than one occasion and been slagged off for my troubles but "John Kear is a brilliant technical coach, .'"
Saying it does not make it so! He has been in his time but i just get the impression his methods have become dated. His ability to motivate is well documented, but only so many times can the same tricks work and it looks at the moment like he has played all his aces over the last 4 years.

| Quote jonh="jonh"I know you mods try to keep things positive and you generally do a sterling job of it, but its the nature of the performances that is the concern not the losses.
I feel you need fresh ideas, not more of the same. The last thing you need to become is a jobs for the boys club (although it is certainly an issue at the moment in my opinion at the club).'"
what we need is money to buy 2 centres and 2 halfbacks and a hooker i can wish

| Quote Khlav Kalash="Khlav Kalash"Said it before, Kear has earned the time to sort this out and not just because of six games four years ago. The club are on a different level to what they were before he arrived. We've had three years of steady progression. So this season may end up being a write off. So what. Thats how sport goes sometimes.
The team are well and truely out of form and it's down to Kear to sort it out. You only have to look at last year so see that he can do this. Look at Quins. A few weeks ago they were awful yet they get a few troops back, win a game and appear to be a completely different team.
There were opportunities last night a team with a win or two behind them would've taken and ultimately won the match. However, this team is low on confidence therefore they rush the chances they get making a mess of them. A coach can't make allowances for knock on's, messing up the play of the ball and crazy passes.'"
He cant,you are correct.
But he is responsible for our lack of creativity, lack of attacking moves, lack of set plays and dire team selection.
Kear is/was a one trick pony, having the ability to motivate an average group of players into producing above average performances.Unfortunately it appears he no longer has that ability and has nothing else to fall back on.
Are we really on such a different level to where we four years ago?Stadium apart,we are constantly in financial dire straits and continue to sell players to survive.

That is a concern and its one thing Brough in particular was very good at. He could read the game very well and could capitalise on a defence out of position. Obst did to a certain extent with his scoots from dummy half in the 1st 40 last night but as the whole teams performance dropped in the 2nd so did his.

because he keeps tipping a Wakefield loss in his column hence he is the spawn of the devil.....that seems to be the general line against him.
I can understand it, i mean why would you want a coach who has had success at every club he has been to (Wigan aside, but in hindsight that was never going to work) has recent NRL experience and training/coaching methods and a hat full of contacts in Australia with influence over the transfer market.

as a coach I like him, but I really do feel he has a dislike to us not because of his tipping but by comments he's made regarding us. Whether he'd come
I don't know I guess only he'd know

Yup, basically how I see it. Kear seems to be imune (to many on here) for the good work he has done in the past - and whilst we need to take this into account when planning there has to come a time when we move on. This "slump" is a regular occurance, and I can genuinely see us fininising closer to last place than 8th as things stand at the moment.
Proven coach with winning mentalitly, heaps of experience, encourages his sides to play entertaining stuff, apparently readily available, currently flying with his side after making huge strides recently + the other reasons you mention...... Yup, promoting Paul Broadbent with JD as assistant is a much more sensible suggestion.
