| Quote: Slugger McBatt "I heard the Jeffries one at the weekend. If it happens, I hope it works out. A popular player leaving is one thing, as some people will always resent the leaving (Solomona, for example), but you couldn't say that Jeffries was that popular when he was here last time. On his day, very good player. It was the number of on-days that was the problem. Maybe with a new start, he will have more of his days.
Mind you, the same could be said about Brough. Misses games through suspension, and will have the occasional mare. But when he is on, he is really on.'"
Might be on my own, but would quite like to see BJ back, but only if Brough is still here......think BJ and Brough would be a great combo next year, especially with the platform our forwards would give them!

You might be right. I used to say at the time that the problem with Jeffries and Rooney as a combination was that neither was an aggressive player, both seemed laid back kind of people. Maybe with Brough's aggression, Jeffries will flourish.
Perhaps that was always the perceived problem with Drew and Brough, in that both were aggressive players who wanted to command the game. Perhaps you need the balance.

| I think it would be a decent signing personally. Think last time he was here he was relied upon as the main half back IMO. This time he'd probably play second fiddle to broughy n I think it'd suit him. A quality kicking game and second in the league for try assists in a poor team this year ain't bad.

Think BJ might have more to prove than Korki. You could never question Korki's love of the club, but he just looked after himself financially, and you can't blame him for that. Snitch was a young lad, that's all. I remember that BJ was getting a hard time from the fans when he was playing for Wakey, but I'm not sure the others did.

| Hopefully the silly season is about to end and we will find out who is going staying
but given talk of a 20-21 man squad and the likelihood of some players going petereson, snitch? Atkins? Wilkes? Drew? and the definites like bibey and martin
We are also only allows 8 non local trained players next season - so am pretty sure that jd would count as foreign, and so would hendo - altho am sure he could do a finnegan and appeal
1 Matt blaymire
2) murphy
3) Gleeson
4) Millard (non fed)
5) Blanch (non fed)
6) Grix
7) Danny Brough
Tronc (non fed)
9) Newton
10) Stosic (non fed)
11) Morrision (non fed)
12) Ferguson
13) JD (non fed)
14) Obst Non fed
15 Korky ? & is he non fed? as he has a greek passport
16) Moore
17) Hendo
1icon_cool.gif George
19) Latu Non fed
assuming the young lads like davey etc count as home grown but dont form part of the senior 21 then realistically unless one of our non local trained players is going and we arent keeping corky (in which casev why would u let wilkes or bibey leave ) cant see how we could sign bj and i for one would not like to see obst go to make way for him
also if the numbers are right then cant really see more than another one orv two signings at most

And him jumping ship for money after having had his career put back on track by us will probably make them feel vindicated.

Whether he goes to Cas or as is now being speculated on, Hull, he has no better chance of furthering his career and winning medals than he has with us, figure it out.
I must add that I was not one of those that crucified him when he signed, personally I thought it was a great signing not just for the player he is but also for the fact that he was academy trained, but I do believe he has used us at a time when his options were very few if any other than us to put himself in a position to get better money elsewhere.

If BJ does come back, I think he needs to be given the chance to prove himself - he is clearly a confidence player so fans getting on his back early doors won't help. Just hope if he does come back, he is playing alongside Mr Brough

All the speculation surrounding Brough is the reason for my comment. I know he still has a year left on his contract, but if someone was prepared to pay a fee for him and he won't sign a new contract with us because its not what he wants that may force the club to cash in now
