I wouldn't blame anyone who is trying to take club forward. They may well have the personal to do this without jm input only they know. If they have all well and good if not then foolish not to utilise his knowledge.

Since Minnards joined the product on the field has got worse every season, that is not me spouting rubbish as some people would say, that is a fact.

People say he is on top of the IMG stuff but I would hazard a guess that by reading the document which is readily available online anybody from here would have the same knowledge on it.

Knowledge of the stand development and the various stadium projects. That was his primary focus and his success where many (every) others have failed.

Having knowledge of IMG criteria by reading it clearly isn't something most on here have at all. That has been proved daily.
But what he has is experience talking to IMG and RFL about the criteria, what it means to us and how we can best improve our score efficiently.
We still have people saying we need to improve West Side because it doesn't look nice......which gets us nothing. And complaining that we bought a screen and floodlights instead of buying an extra player, which got us considerably more points........
It's the difference between someone who supports the club from the terrace and someone who understands the details of running a Super League club.

Yes the screen earns you IMG brownie points but the floodlights earn you nothing. People are confused when the LED lights are mentioned it's not the actual floodlights but those boards you see around the pitch with advertising on.
Plus the IMG stipulate quite a bit about dimensions and positioning of press boxes and broadcast studio with minimum dimensions and positioning . We are using that dump on West Terrace for this purpose and I suspect it's far from suitable for scoring points in that area.

Finally IMG stipulate all sponsors boxes must be on or near the half way line, so as far as I can see things that rules out any points we may get for the flats.

In summary, we are much stronger than Cas in many areas but still quite a bit to do to get all brownie points on offer.

correct regarding the LED boards. Cas won't be able to have them as there isn't enough room between touchline and railings and they are quite deep boxes close up.

Sky were specifying a minimum standard for floodlighting a couple of seasons back.. Was part of the P.R. blurb from the Floodlights Contractor. Not sure if the vid is still about.

Let me break this down for you.

Ok, there is no doubt that JM has IP, that could enable a level of continuity with IMG, RFL going forward. But JM being in the club if that is a concept that people are supporting (including JM of course) must be non executive. Give him a job by all means, but I suspect that JM wants a piece of action tin e ti - this is not me rumour mongering, I’ve just been in these situations before in corporate land and leverage may be in play?

By all means give JM a desk, a laptop and a phone, sit him over there and let him continue be the head of IMG relations on a 12 month contract to be reviewed.

Back seat your comments are fair. I or many others don't know who will wanting what from the deal. From what I see from the comments the vast majority think it makes sense for him to be involved in some capacity.

Minards has managed to get a stand done which is a total shambles (North) and has built the East stand without any corporate boxes. Said stand now has seats installed upside down and facing the wrong way! Great work John let’s keep it going!!!

Why do you want corporate boxes in East? They are already covered by the flats which are sold out, and would reduce the space for corporate/entertainment events which can earn all year round rather than 12/13 days
I haven't seen a picture of an upside down seat. Just Hearsay so far.

And even if what you said was true, no one else moved forward from a wooden stand with no boxes and a north stand with reduced capacity because it was falling apart (shown very clearly by the but at the back)

Corporate boxes were in the original spec. Have you been to the top of the north stand and looked behind? Have you got your head out of the current incumbents arias’ yet? Will you be reporting this among with many other posts to the club.

I think John Minards is vastly overplaying the value of his “knowledge” of IMG processes and his relationships with construction companies. The IMG formula isn’t rocket science and IMG themselves will be on hand to provide help and information to all clubs especially if they’re new owners who’ve come to the party late. As for the building projects, they’re all underway, have detailed plans and will be just a continuation until completed.

There are no partnerships that can’t be handed over and meetings can be held where new owners meet those partnering with the club. It just strikes me that John WANTS to stay involved and that’s OK but if the new ownership wants a clean slate then Minards should accept that and make the transition as easy as possible.

I think most people accept that and presume that is what's happening. It was written [uin block capitals[/u on here the other day that the completion date is set.
