Completely agree. I think people advocating Hampshire at 9 are just trying to find a spot for a local lad.

What we don’t need are players playing out of natural positions and shifting around in defensive line when in Attk/defence. We have a 9 in Bowes, he may not be the answer but probably more of a chance than Hampshire of being a solution at 9.

Hampshire will be needed at halfback anyway for next 4-6 weeks so it’s a moot point. It’s his job now to make sure Miller can’t step back in.

We all moan when Kalepi is moved to prop yet I can guarantee if Hampshire is tried at 9 and if falls like a lead balloon it will be laid at Chesters feet for playing a player out of position.

We are looking for quick fixes as fans but I can tell you now moving the odd player into an unfamiliar position will not help us turn into St helens in attack. Us fans are fickle and speculative but that’s half the fun.

The reality is it will take a lot of hard work from the players and staff to get their combinations and come up with new plans to break teams down.

A big help in that will be discipline and making sure we don’t have to defend 6/7/8/9 sets repeatedly which has been our undoing in the last 2 games. Not fitness or lack of defensive ability but lack of discipline and smarts is n turning the ball over and stemming the flow of repeat sets.

Sorry, but if you think Hampshire is the answer, you are asking the wrong question.
Why should a coach look for ways to fit someone into a team when he has consistently failed to shine in any of the positions he has had the opportunity to play. Miller has been appalling for at least 3 years yet Hampshire hasn't come close to dislodging him so why should we overlook good players to accommodate Hampshire.

We’ve scored more than twice as many points as salford, hudds and Leigh have only scored 2 more tries than us and our defence is better than both Leigh and Salford, but apart from that what have the Romans ever done for us

I'll be happy with close, especially if its a narrow Trinity win



Having said that, unless Hull have picked up a swathe of injuries, I would expect Hull to win by 16 ish

My main concern for this weekends game as a Hull fan is how much the Warrington game will take out of us given its also a 5 day turnaround. However, if we show the same attitude as we have in our other games we should get the job done. I really can't believe Chester is still in a job. You have a much better squad than your results over the last 18 months suggest. But if you can just keep being terrible for one more week before you give Agar the job that would be much appreciated



Its a shame about Johnstone, but good to see him being looked after.
