| That Chester will be in charge for 2021 season commencing is not news. That aside I don't have a problem with much of what Carter has said in that article to be honest. At the very least he put his name to it instead of insulting us all by running anonymously to a hack in a frankly cowardly manner.

I'm not sure why Carter needs to take such a combative approach on this sort of thing. I've said on another thread that he seems completely devoid of empathy, and this is another example of that.
Given what Carter has said in the press previously about how he will deal with dissention in the ranks, I really don't see how saying "we're doing it this way and if anyone has an issue with this, grow a pair and speak to me" is the right approach. You might not be the player who ran to the press but it may be that you agree with the sentiment of the complaint and if you're a player looking at Carter's past remarks, at a time when you're possibly worried about your contract position, you're not going to stick your head above the paraphet in that way. RL players have no shortage of "balls", but they do have a shortage of job and financial security.
This isn't a hidden issue. It's one that's in full view for all to see so it is Carter that should be the one making the first move and offering the olive branch here. He should be the one coming forward and speaking to the senior playing group about their concerns - constructively, and setting out his and Chester's vision - not sitting in his office and waiting for them to come to him with their complaint.

He should be but that isn't his way. He can have a very annoying trait of rubbing people up the wrong way, even though some of our fans seem to think he is some sort of untouchable messiah.
And another thing about that staement, other than signing the cheques for the use of facilities he should nothing to do with any of the planning of training! That is 100% the coaching staffs remit.

| Quote PopTart="PopTart"If true... And I repeat that.... If true.... Then Chester hasn't got much value left and has to go.
However, if I were the new coach I'd look to get rid of the trouble causers who went to the press rather than do the best they can for the club.
There are only so many players it could be who can say they've been coached by a top coach previously.
Player revolts never work well for any club. All parties lose.'"
Unless there is a group of players who are desperate for the club to work things out and felt they had no choice.
Equally, however, it could be fans passing on workplace moans made by players that should never make it to the press.
It isn't going to make Chester go, and it isn't going to encourage any player to sign.

| Quote PopTart="PopTart"After seeing Carter's reply I think the call for Chester's head is counter productive.
He's closer than us and says the claims are unfair.
And of course we don't know where they came from.
Could be Fifita still upset about the tracker
Could be Gigot not liking being dropped when we all agreed with that.
Could be somebody's dad giving info 3rd hand.
Needs sorting but not necessarily by just sacking people.'"
But Chezzie can’t win a game PT, surely that’s the issue,
I hope Wakey resolves it’s issues quickly, this year has been bad enough.

| Two things,
One, there is cancer at Wakefield and there has been for decades. This is just a continuation of a saga that has been running since the 1970s.
It's like groundhog day. New people come in, they build a team and just as it starts to look like we finally might be getting somewhere it all falls to poop. Same issues over and over again and it all seems to revolve around the attitude of the players versus the management with a good deal of local gossip and self-interest thrown in.
I don't go as far back as some but I'm told Toppo was basically pushed out because the BOD and the players who had improved under him couldn't agree on what they were worth.
Look at McNally, 2004 players hero, 2005 they hated him to a man. Tony Smith, first games in charge instant success, following season the players hated him, even Agar, did well to start then bang, players hated him.
There is a pattern here and painful though it is maybe now is the time to break the cycle.
I have no wish to back CC, I think it's too late and he isn't good enough as a motivator. However, if he's staying breaks the 'player power' that has held this club back for years it may be worth it. However it's not just the players, there are clearly people lurking behind the scenes who are just as culpable, the whole place needs to be flushed out. That's what Salford did, that's what Leeds did when GH took charge, they washed away the past and started again.
Maybe I'm wrong with the detail, I am however right about the real issue. These problems were at the club long before CC and MC and must be tackled.
Two, if you want a clue then take what MC said some month back at the start of COVID. He said he was surprised by the reaction of some players to pay cuts and that he wouldn't forget those who supported him or those who didn't.
There is where it started, there is your problem and it's not just to do with CC. There is clearly a split amongst the player and you don't need to be Sherlock to work it out. That's' why the performances have been so patchy IMHO and why some players seem committed and some don't. Looking from the outside as fans do it's hard to know who's right, it always is. We as fans now need to choose who we back, the Coach (at least short term) and the BOD or a dissident group of players with an agenda of their own?
Tricky one if you have the ability to think deeply rather than just get angry and demand a head on a plate.

Well good luck with the season ticket sales and next year's recruitment MC.
Perhaps the players might show the 'balls' to speak with you if your mind wasn't already made up !
Its reassuring to know that you're helping to plan the training too ... unbelievable!

You can read that how you want -
My take would be that he sees the plans "for" and not actually involved in the planning "of"....

| The problem is we were playing badly long before the lockdown so the usual it’s all down to money doesn’t apply. The attitude of the coach and CEO does, which reading the way each post to the press I am surprised anyone would want to join our club.
