| Quote: M62 J30 TRINITY "The question is easy " why have the Wakefield public been conned and why are the council doing nothing about it"'"
A very good question.
Was too much trust placed in Yorkcourt who clearly had no intention of delivering the required percentage of floor space to trigger the development ?
Why weren't the pressure groups promoting the development concerned about the possibility of this happening ?
The scenario was brought up by a couple of posters on Casforum that this could happen and yet was ignored or was it one massive gamble ?

| see the liblabcon panic last week in the scottish referendem,if the labour council in wakefield think the stadium issue could be a big vote loser next year it might convince them to act.so if they wont do anything dont vote for them simple.

| Reading the various comments the problem appears to be between the developers and whoever drafted the agreement. I may be missing something but in what way did the council impede the development.

Why don't we split the council so that they can only vote for the areas they represent, oh wait a minute Newmarket falls into the East of the district.

This is not an obvious labour city we no longer have any heavy industry or mining sold off I believe but I can't remember by whom. I object to your reference to the majority being fools because they vote for what they believe, many I suppose will remember what we had before it was taken away. I may consider those that vote for other parties to be idiots and would ask what have they done for Wakefield to make things better and on what basis should we consider changing our votes. Do you actually believe we would have a stadium if the conservatives had been in power, if so why because their current track record is not that great on spending.

It probably would but sadly I doubt it would be passed and this is nothing to do with my point I was making.
If you think we had objections at Newmarket it would be nothing compared to what we would encounter at the park.

Still is a perfect place for stadium. That was another wasted stadium opportunity and valuable time wasted by WMDC

Wakefield finished rock bottom of a survey of the UKs biggest City's in terms of sporting facilities per capita, that's a huge embarassment to WMDC and requires rectifying.'"
That is absoutely shocking and anyone that votes this lot in again want their head testing. The quicker Box buggers off, the better the City of Wakefield will be.
As for Cas' ground, couldn't give a monkeys.

Noticed in the express the other week locals were moaning about housing been built on the college site where the stadium was due to be built. A stadium and 3G pitches would be brilliant for Wakefield park. Park for all, stadium for all.
