| Should be interesting after today's news that SL clubs are against the 3 sets of 8 option. 1 up 1 down minimum standards I reckon

| Would appreciate some details from tonight's meeting please. I'd intended to go but can't due to last minute problems. Should indeed be interesting due to the events of today

| It could be that our chances of survival could have just improved with the news that currently the great and good of SL are not too happy with the RFL proposal. I suppose that based on the clubs indicated to be against you can add those with self interest which does not leave many in favour.
I know this is against the spirit of RL which I would defend to the hilt but based on the fact that we will be a favourite for relegation, I am all for self interest. Who is representing us at Wednesdays meeting MC or KH, I hope the former because I have not read how Leeds feel.

| Sounds like rugby leagues civil war has begun anyway. The superleague clubs lead by Ian Leneghan have had the rfl postpone the restructure meeting as they are not happy with the proposals. There is talk of no confidence votes, breakaways and the like. Not great timing with the world cup approaching.

| Get ready for a rerun of the Lindsay, Caisley, Hetherington self interested disaster that did so much harm to the game. What a state of affairs, the game is a joke

| Wednesdays EGM of the RL Council has been postponed to give more time for consultation. Looks like the proposal may not be implemented after all but what will the alternative be ?

| As has been suggested - 1 up, 1 down and the return of minimum standards, which appear to have been quietly shelved, right about the time that several clubs half killed themselves to implement, whilst others sat on their hands.

| This could well be the most important development in our own bid for long term survival. Another year in the top flight could be almost guaranteed with this delay. Spare a thought for those who have bought big for 2014 in the belief that 2 will be relegated. This may no longer be the case...

| The RFL should be having a meeting under the heading of
"How do we attract more investment into Rugby League".
If we can increase the revenue coming into the game, many of the changes don't need to happen and we could reverse the ludicrous situation over the senior academies and dual reg.

I think the likes of Wigan and the 2 Hull clubs are all for a 10 club SL. This stand-off might cause a delay for a season like you say but in the long-term could be disasterous for the likes of Wakey and Cas.

The minimum standards thing is fairly straight forward, so long as they don't change the criteria part way through the season etc.
IF this is the route that the RFL are going down then, we should know at the start of the season who would be eligible for promotion AND what would happen if the "top" club in the CC wasn't up to the grade ie would the promotion spot go to the highest placed eligible club or would the bottom club retain their top flight status.
It has to be transparent and without the perceived protectionism that has gone on in the past.
