| According to Adrian Vowles again on Twitter, as suspected we have definately signed Ewan Dowes.

| Quote Trojan Horse="Trojan Horse"[size=150That is a big prop down if true. I was hoping he could stay and have the big offseason. [/size
We are wafer thin at prop now. We need a prop with some size. That's another quota freed up and probably decent money.
On the discussion of Amor, if murph is definitely to go. An ideal opportunity to ask for Amor and all the gate money from annual Leeds vs wakey fixture perhaps?
I was hoping we would see the real hickey this coming season.'"
Not a chance, he is utterly shot - it's a pipe dream best rid now. Great work by the club as far as I'm concerned, we are showing we mean business IMO.
I really don't know what some folk want. A player arrives who is clearly unfit and unwilling, we moan all season about him. The minute he rightly gets shown the door in the eyes of some he suddenly becomes an asset...why

| Quote bren2k="bren2k"Some people seem to have an inside track; I thought he'd shed at least 2 stone and was looking leaner and stronger?
Hey ho - it's annoying when looked at retrospectively that we seem to have invested a huge amount of time and energy into what our new HC must believe to be another dud. Of all the things Agar can be criticised for however, he seems to do a good job with overseas signings, so maybe those days are over?
I hope he a) eats all their pies b) breaks the seats on the team coach and c) doesn't bend our forwards in half next season.'"
For me it's not about how fit or slim he gets, it's the fact he got so bad in the first place. To me it shows he hasn't and probably never really had the mind set to be a top player and that gets even harder as you get older. He got away with it for a few years when he was younger with the natural fitness you have at that age. But as he gets older he will need to train harder and eat much better to stay fit enough for SL. I just don't think he has it in him even if he manages to look fitter - sometimes it's all in the mind.
Just my opinion, we are best rid and if someone else does OK with him so be it.

| Quote Trinity Till Death="Trinity Till Death"Typical Wakefield, we do all the hard work only for another team to reap the benefit.
Hickey shouldn't have played this season. If he'd had turned up in that condition to any other SL team their coach wouldn't have put him anywhere near first team rugby. Hopefully Agar will be alot stronger than Kear and have faith in his young academy products.
That's time wasted developing an overweight journeyman which could have been used on developing our youngsters. Maybe, the difference between some staying at WTW for the long haul and moving on!
Hickey certainly had potential, it's just a shame that after persisting with him to get him anywhere near to match fitness it'll be another club who'll possibly reap that reward'"
Spot on
Hope we have 2 or 3 props coming in we need them now

| Hickey is the worst player I have ever seen pull on the great shirt I'm pleased we have drawn a line under this debacle and hopefully we will finally learn that if we are going to bring players no good money from the other side of the world they have to be better than what we have or what is available here. We need our imports to be the iceing on the cake rather than the sponge cake itself.

If you look back I was not involved in the moaning and especially off the cuff coments on his arrival and after.
At the shape he is in and the contract and quota he commands then we may have made a shrewd move.
That for me remains to be seen in the replacement. I think we are 3 props down now.

| Quote bren2k="bren2k"Add Tronc to that list.'"
Tronc was not a mid season signing. He was a mid season departure. He did a full pre season then played about 10 games then requested a release from his two year contract - due to family issues.

No arguments from me on that. Mark my words the guy will still look like a big pudding come Feb next year.

You could well be right - I suppose my frustration is less with losing Hickey specifically, and more with the wasted time, money and effort in getting him here in the first place.

| It was obvious from day one that he's lost the plot, will he get back to the level he needs to, not a chance. he will always be a pudding and quins have been mugged.
Waste of time and money but at least the club can learn from it.
