| Oh dear I feel for you guys you make an amazing escape to stay in super league and then get saddled with Agar or dear.
Agar with a far better squad then Wakefield ever had couldnt win us anything, and couldnt even beat a super league team in the challenge cup so god help him with your squad.
No chance of Manu joining you guys either

The thing is, that’s being sold to us as one of Agar’s virtues.

| Quote: bellycouldtackle "He is our coach now and as such I wish him every success. I hear good things from people who know a great deal more than me. I am told by people whose opinion I trust that RA is a great choice of coach for us.
I am sure that I am guilty of jumping to an opinion about RA from the persona that is portrayed on TV and by comments made by Hull fans who may well be just the vocal minority. It is obvious that RA does not court publicity, we never see him as a sky guest, he may just be the sort of chap who likes to quietly go about doing the best job he can possibly do. I am told that he will work well with our excellent youth rugby staff, that he has a fantastic work ethic, that he got rid of the drinking culture at Hull, that he got rid of problem players, that he is very well regarded by players loke O`Mealy, Fitsgibbon and Manu. Good luck to RA. I am pleased that I have taken the time to speak to people in the game, outside of Wakefield to find out more about the man.'"
This is exactly how I feel - it's hard not to have your judgement coloured by the "Agar Out" contingent. If you look beyond that he's got a lot going for him. Good luck Richard.

| I'm sorry to see you making the same mistakes that we previously made, yet again.
After we promoted John Kear beyond his capabilities to the position of Head Coach, we did the same with Richard Agar.
There is no doubting the technical, coaching abilities of each man, unfortunately there is much more to the role than that.
Good luck lads, you'll need it I'm afraid.

I have no idea but that press release is just comical, surely the man who likes detail should be checking this before it gets released!!

yeah I noticed that
The four the article mentions are Briscoe, Houghton, Lyne and Turner.
Briscoe is a freak of nature and would have come through at any club.
Houghton has learnt the hooking role from two of the best hookers in recent years, Swain & Berrigan.
Turner was signed from Salford two years ago where he was already a regular. he hasn't really nailed down a spot at FC yet, although has had a good run at centre recently.
Lyne has made a handful of appearences on the wing, and seems out of his depth at SL level.
Two players in 3 and a half years is not good enough, especially when we've signed around 20 foreign players in the same period.

What a load of horse poop.
He had 4 years to change the team how he saw fit and is still garbage. The team only started playing when AP took over and Agars days were numbered
If you think Agar was up against it at Hull, what chance has he at Wakefield?
the sign of a good coach is a coach who can make a rubbish team better.
John Kear, Brian Noble, Justin Morgan, Tony Smith, Nathan Brown are examples
The sign of a rubbish coach is one who can take a top side and make them mediocre
Richard Agar & Steve Mcnamara are examples

| Uninspired, especially given the fact that supporters opposed his appointment in their droves.
3 year contract? Not ideal.
However I will be backing Agar and will judge his tenure based on results. At the moment though I do feel a little deflated about the whole situation. Maybe with some quality signings from Agar I will start to feel more optimistic. I'm just finding it difficult to pick out positives at the moment. People will say 'it will be better than the dross that Kear has served up this season' but that is the easiest counter argument in the world. It's done now though, time to move on TFC!

Very arrogant post. No doubt if you do well in play offs it will be because Agar said he was leaving and if you don't it will be his fault. The guy doesn't stand a chance. Only time will tell. Most wakey fans will at least give the guy a chance to show what he can do.

| Unlucky fellas!
Still, he has a good record of finishing 12th out of 14 or 11th out of 12 so he can only improve you.

Completely one-eyed post.
We were not a 'top side' when Agar took over, although nor are we one now he's left.
We were becoming a top side following the foundations Shaun McRae left us, the next two coaches made some very poor desicions and were sacked.
The recruitment desicions of these two guys, followed by the abysmal injury plague in 2008/09 meant he was up against it right from the start.
He has since built a fairly good team (on paper), but failed to get the performing consistently and compete with the best in SL.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's left Hull and he should have got alot more out of the resources he had available Although I'm not so completely one-eyed that I cannot see that the situation he found himself in at the beginning of his reign was a bloody tough one.
