The thread was slagging off our chairman. Gives me every right to come on here and defend him.
The applications were professionally assessed on merits. The result was you dropping out and Crusaders staying in. Yesterday the Crusaders pulled out, leaving a snap decision by Lewis and Wood. The easiest decision was made, keep Wakefield in but remind them they have to do something with their ground blah blah blah. If BV is redeveloped before the start on next year it is still not a SL standard ground. End of.

none of the sky money , not 1 penny of it goes into funding this . you need to bring facts to the table for an adult discussion.

this is a shallow and empty process. i'm glad we're still in the top division, but i'm not happy in the slightest today with the world of rugby league.'"
Indeed - I'm glad that a 'proper' club is staying in at the expense of a poor experiment.
It's a shame that fans of two 'proper' clubs are reduced to having an argument over Business plans, stadia and finances. Until the RFL sorts this out I've not much interest for our game.

| I've no problem with the guy mouthing off although it is probably ill judged, he's obviously disappointed. What I still don't get is why all his ire is aimed towards us specifically. As for certain fax fans coming on here slagging us off have more dignity it's not Wakey who introduced this stupid process

Please tell us about all these boxes' you have ticked that we have not, apart from the council owned ground and then we will tell you all the boxes we have ticked that you have not.

This is also missing the point. If the Halifax application had been stronger than the Wakefield application, Halifax would be in ahead of Wakefield regardless of what happened at Crusaders.
The sad thing about all of this is that it reduces rugby league fans to sniping and denegrating the value of other clubs. That's not what the game is about, IMO. It's a dark day indeed when it comes to this.

If you had dropped out and Halifax in would you be saying the same thing?. I have no problem with Wakey as a club but as a franchise applicant you have had a decade to sort your ground out and done nothing!
The RFL sent out a clear message today that financial insolvency is acceptable in Rugby league. Why would Andrew Glover spend his money on a new stadium? All you have to do is wait until six months before the next round of licenses, go bust, then reform and release a press statement claiming the problems are over and you shall be moving into a new ground within 18 months. The RFL will eat it up again.

Now you're just being silly; I understand how hacked off you must be feeling, but when you read the above back in a few days time, you'll be embarassed.
Hopefully, once your Chairman has cooled his jets, he'll make plans to ensure that Fax are primed, ready and waiting to take the SL place of ourselves, Cas, Quins or any other club that doesn't do what it said it would do.

That’s not quite true is it? A new stadium is waiting to be approved and in the meantime BV will be upgraded to a category B standard ground in time for the new season. If neither of these two things transpire, Halifax will be first in line to replace Trinity next year. As long you your chairman outburst hasn’t marked Halifax’s card.
The insolvency thing was removed, or downgraded as a criteria, ironically due to the Crusaders going belly up.

| Nat owd cock. It's not the wakey club, the wakey clubs current BoD or the wakey clubs fans that has caused this. Maybe they have had x years to do a,b&c and haven't done. No good shouting at the Wakey fans - it's not their fault - nor its it their current BoD.
The RFL made their decision. Whether you agree with it or not, or whether you support the licencing process or not, is purely your subjective opinion.
But yackin off on here may vent your spleen, but is not going to change owt. The process is rotten thru mate. If would still be rotten thru if wakey lost out and you lot came up.
P&R owd cock - P&R!!
