What a stupid thread; I've been critical of JE in the past when I thought it was justified, but to have a pop at him for making public statements in support of the governing body in the run up to decision time is just silly. If he'd have done the opposite, he'd be criticised for antagonising them and risking our licence.

We're all nervous and tense about the decision, but don't let it get silly; some people are coming across as bitter and vindictive in this thread and that's not especially edifying or productive.

Worked with JE on a few things when the company I work for had a sponsorship deal with the club. Without a doubt he was the only one in the pre AG era that had a clue about things. I mean he shared a role with Ed Curran who was in way way beyond his deoth and didn't have a clue how to deal with large organisations or corporate deals although he was a nice chap - he did not portray any confidence what so ever. We got a free year and even had to insist that they take the signs down after WTW didn't fit in with our company's national marketing strategy. JE fits very well with the "Local club" that does stuff locally very well - we are never going to be glamorous so the strategy fits well albeit in Championship one next year. The bloke does a decent job with limited resources and a history like ours due to ted etc. At times it must be like trying to convince someone to buy a second hand phone from Rupert Murdoch!!

As far as I can remember wasn't Elston responsible for Glover and Parkin being interested in the first place? Without that interest we would either still be in the hands of TR or bust.
I can't see as he can do anything than "officially" support the RFL line, what slim chance we have may well rest on it, anyone that says otherwise is clearly not understanding the situation.
I think we also need to get one thing absolutely clear, whatever the outcome of 26th July, of we are out it is not the fault of JE, the book lies clearly with TR for getting us into such a mess firstly and the RFL for having such a ridiculously corrupt situation in operation, we are clearly not the worst franchise in the process, though I think up until Glovers involvement we were a very bad one.
Whether or not glover is a saint or not, or wether we are being all taken along for a ride, I don't know, I'll be honest I have considered it myself over the last few weeks. What glover has the right to do is make as much money as he can, and make us as profitable as he see's fit and clearly JE will go along with that, as he did under TR, that doesn't make him or Glover bad people, it just means theyre running a business in the manner that they see fit.
For what my opinion is worth, we are in with slightly more of a shout on the 26th than we were, and people deserve some credit for that, as theyve tried to make the impossible possible.

Spot on - AG is a business man who is trying to get some profitability and repect in to a business which has been very badly run over a number of years. Shame that Ted didn't realise how bad a businessman he was years ago and offer the club up on the market without a ridiculous price tag attached to it. In the end he lined his own pockets and robbed a number of others along the way. He and his family got the club in to a huge hole and blamed the RFL, Sainsburys and everyone else for it. It goes back years and surrounding yourself with nodding dogs (ie his family) worked wonders - and made the family a decent living (ie the shopkeeper and Di - the mystery stadium role woman). I believe that AG, JE and Davide are making a good fist of it - just a bit late - rather like the ref make the penalty count even by giving 10 penaltys in the dying minutes to the losing team when the game has well gone.

Have people forgot where we were at the start of the Season, almost out of existence.
If we do get the push next week I for one am in no doubt who got us in this situation, Ted Richardson and his bloody family!!!
