It would be typical of us not to get compensation - as with Elima - as we think its "for the players own good". We need to think about the club, that's what's left, sod the players who have left the ship - we should think about what's remaining.

Sorry, but I don't get this. I think we do pretty well in trying to get the best deals in terms of compensation for departing players, and I don't for one moment think we'd let Tronc head back for free if we could get something out of it. But you can't get what's not there to be had. Maybe there was a get-out clause in his contract that enabled us to sign him in the first place? (I don't know whether this is the case, btw, just speculating.)

Brisbane could of had him but they thought more of other players then they lose a couple for the season and in good old salary cap dogging style de-register them to make way for tronc who as dreamt of playing for brisbane until october then if the other 2 players recover there will be no room on the cap for him .

i hope we never sign another overseas player because since Ray Bexendale came in 81 we have signed so much dross and being let down so many times its unreal I do not no now many we have had but very few were any better than British based players i could name about 12 that have being worth having
