Halpenny is another player like Korki who's reputation far exceeds his ability and contribution IMHO. Yes I rated him and he did a good job but for me that don't make him a great player.

For me Holland was the best and despite what some seem to think scored a reasonable number of tries. It is often said that Blaymire doesn't make those barnstorming runs from and that's true he doesn't. Neither did Halpenny.

We have never had such a player at BV since the zip zip man played for us and he was running on one leg by the time we got him. We have had a few wingers in Sov and Frew etc who have made a half decent effort.

What thankfully we have always had in my time of watching is great defensive F/B's which is what we have needed. Spencer, Leeds, Holland and now Blaymire - steady but probably never spectacular.

Credibility zero after that comment!



Andrew Leeds was 'awesome' - way the best full back seen at Belle Vue in the past 30 years! (I hope you appreciate the use of the 'a' word - that's just for you!

Maybe a tad over the top but the best i've seen at Wakey.

If he isn't 'awesome' yet the best in 30 years - then I think we would stuggle to fing candidates.

I see no problem at all in bigging up these guys - they are ALL very good at what they do - hence they get paid for running around a rugby pitch and I sit behind a desk!

No way, excellent as he was deffo not "awesome" about the same as the others though it was clear to see he probably was awesome a few years earlier. Sometimes TRB I think you're a bit like that fast show character "ain't milk great" when you over enthuse

That tackle by Halpenny ultimately kept us in Super League on a different night with a different video ref it would have stood. Never saw much of Andrew Leeds but my mate recons he was top class. Would like to see Frew's stats as if I remember came with quite a big reputation but didn't get us many try's although i maybe wrong. Stats please for Frew someone!

Fairly rubbish, sadly, in his spell this decade though.
