Why do we think that the ex Bulls will perform any better with us than they did in a very poor side or that B J has improved his game any with that experience

It isn't about taking offence as I see it. What worries me more is that we can't have a reasoned discussion about a performance in context without people on both sides resorting to accusing the other side of being planks or that old chestnut of saying 'they clearly have never played the game'.

Shame really, as in amongst that there are fair comments on either side that provoke thought. For example, I can see Upton's point about the lack of supporting runners being a contributory issue. I'd like to think reasoned debate would mean I can take that on board yet still stand by what I've already said, that I wasn't impressed by that individual performance. Equally as I've watched seasons of it before, I feel I can stretch it to worrying about his future contribution, without it running to scapegoating as I'm still prepared to keep an open mind.

As for the need to drag Hendo into the debate, I'll stand by my previous also. Yes players like that are an essential part of a shoestring squad. However, I'm pretty sure younger (and bigger) players are available from the National Leagues on similar wages who may have more potential about them.

Because they will be playing in a better team with a better coach?

so here are my thoughts

murphy looked to have put a bit of weight on and didn't look out of place at fullback - quite a mature performance overall.

newton - thought he played very well considering first game, we wouldn't have got any more out of drew, and been "newton" adds some fear to our side (i.e. don't mess with us unless newton will .......)

jeffries was very much like rooney as mentioned before, a bit of effort, but ultimately ineffective.

brough was going through the motions - nothing fancy, just slow and steady.

king went well also

the rest were pretty much equal - no real criticism to be had, not much praise to issue either

No but it's the first step towards it, usually expressed be people who can't wait to say 'I told you so', as for Brough, he's proved over a sustained period that he is just as likely to go missing when he's got his maungy head on as BJ is.

don't agree with you there at all. was it davey at 14 who completely mis read the inside ball in the first half from bj who sold the whole leeds defence with the dummy and would have been in for a score? also was it not morton who did not see the kick from bj in to the corner which went straight in to touch!! playing at half back is all about timing, i remember when broughy came back from injury last year and was slagged by all the fickle never played the game brigade because some of his kicking was out !!! STOP SLAGGING AND START SUPPORTING ! IT REALLY MAKES ME FEEL SICK!
