| I was walking through the cemetary going to the Cas match, in front of me were two couples also going to the match. One of the girls started laughing and said "I hope there is nobody behind me, I've just farted", she turned around and there I was and obviously knew what she had done. She turned red and I just smiled, after all what could I say to such a lady.

Stood at Belle Vue after we beat Warrington easy and shouting Come on cas! for the one and only time in my life..waiting for any sort of info from the willows.People had radios, mobile phones, etc I just walked around watching people then came the ripple of excitement as the final hooter draw closer..Cas were winning, could they hold on??
Then people were jumping up and down all over the pitch untill the players came out and Brad Davis had a bottle of champagne to 'celebrate' I dont ever want to go through that again! Cas fan for THAT day, never again

No we weren't - many thanks. I think your win had a little to do with the play offs rather than keeping us up but we will be forever grateful.

I remember - I was stood on halfway line with another Trinity fan and a Cas fan (who had been supremely confident of a big Cas win) and we never used to beat them back then, so when we went 2 scores up at about 15 - 20 mins, I was givin him some proper stick and this old Cas fan behind us came over and reassured him that it was only "early days" and not to worry!
Great match that was - stayed after the game and must have been about the last Wakey fan in the ground and ended up smoking a massive cigar outside the Tiger Den, very tipsy and also managed to get a Cas Lass's phone number. (Never called her tho, lol)

| Remember the last day of the season in 77/78 season with just 1 minute to go the score was 17 17 and my Grandfather decided we were going for the bus. Latter on that night the RL scores were on TV and we had lost 17 20 to a last gasp Bruce Burton try gutted

31007_1580947500.jpg EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_31007.jpg |

| Two memories for me:
1. a game in around 1978, when it was abandoned at half-time because of fog, and I think we were winning 5-2 or something. Don't know if it was replayed.
2. The relegation decider and Danny Brough's 40-20 (or not). I still put our club's continued existence to him missing that kick. Cas were 3 points ahead about half way through the second half and Brough (in Cas colours) went for a 40-20. If he had got it, they may well have scored, as they had the momentum, and would have been too far away to catch in a tight game like that. He missed it, as it went out on the full. So we had the scrum well inside their half, scored from the next set to go ahead (I think it was Monty), and never looked back.
Good old Danny's boot.

It was for a playoff place in 2000 IIRC.

No, think it was the last game of 2002. We had to beat an already safe Warrington and you had to beat Salford at the Willows. We had Warrington beat after 20 minutes, and so the rest of the game was spent trying to stand near someone with a radio. When the game at Belle Vue ended, everyone just milled around, waiting for the result from Salford. You won a close game, and we all got on the pitch.

correct the win put you in 5th place and relegated salford at the same time we crushed wire meaning that even if salford drew they were going down on P/D.

Remember being in Canada picking up a paper to see we had won that game. Checking through stats was Nathan Wood's last game for us. Ben played against fax the following week and then they both ended up at Wire.
