| Very pleased for Tim Smith, after the stick he's had. Just shows what he can do when he's got something to work with.
Very pleased for Richard Agar, who by his standards made a bold, and by this forum's standards a sensible move, in putting Sykes in for John. Maybe Washbrook and Cockayne would have seen us win by 50 (personally, I wouldn't have tinkered with the original combo till after the game, if we'd lost), but we got the win.
Great effort from all the lads today. I'm a happy camper. It's going to be a good weekend over here.

What a difference playing with a 6 with a go forward attitude makes.
For all Sykes wasn't perfect he went forward with the ball allowing a smith time and space to play a very good game.
His try was superb and showed what he is capable of, a bit more of this and though's who booed him off last week may be feeling a bit embarrassed.

| I thought he had possibly his best game with us (bar the kick out on the full) and I thought he worked very well with Sykes - hopefully we shall see this next week. Did anyone notice Chase crawling out of Smith's pocket at FT - Mellar's try should remind to look where he is passing! Also thought Kyle Wood was much better defensively, and Andy Raleigh had his best game to date. On to next week!

| Smith was never the issue it was John who didn't do a thing. Smith still can do better but I think hes decent hopefully he gained confidence from this. Hes a top NRL assist maker. Can't believe we have got John for 3 years thats worrying.

Yes he is - if he can just focus more the bingo. He just lacks concentration every now and then which IMHO is what really lets him down.

| After yesterday we need to stick with the same half backs for next game as not only did it let Smith play a better game but also made Washbrook and Aitons game in attack more effective and better.Lets face it Sykes has played half back before besides centre so its not new to him.

| Whilst the club would have been aware, Timmy has suffered from many years with Bipolar disorder.
Whilst it can be treated, I believe it can’t be cured.
After last week’s shenanigans, with him getting booed off by a certain sector, to come back with a performance like that deserves some admiration.
The bloke has got a very good rugby brain, I just hope he can kick on through the summer.
Well played Timmy.

Also noticed he thanked the fans - great show of dignity there considering last week, good lad.

| Excellent game Tim.
One moment everyone has forgot is when he grubber kicked for himself when in our own 20 - that was 1 very iffy moment but would have been class if he'd regathered & put Kirmond (I think it was) away.
Good decision (for once) by RA to drop John and put PS there instead. I truly believe IJ needs a few reserve outings and will come back a better player for it.

Perfect example of what IS WRONG with nearly every post this guy makes.
He makes a fair point about Smith but then balances it with a snide, pointless and frankly wrong post about another.
You do realise you can make a positive point without making a negative one every single time.
Perhaps if John had not been over hyped to start with - probably by folk like you.
