Huddersfield informed the RFL they would be playing in their white strip and this was SANCTIONED by the RFL.
Cas should have come with their home kit but brought the wrong one. It was either CAS or the RFL who made the mistake. That is why CAS were made to wear the Halifax kit.
The match commissioner has been interviewed by Sky & he said that it was down that Castleford would play in there home jersey's & Hudders would be playing in there alternate jersey's... Sadly Cas didn't pack the right kit & didn't bring a spare! Hence why they are in Halifax's!
END OF STORY.

| But it was a home fixture for Huddersfield shouldn't that mean they should play in their home kit?

Not always as you can ask/inform the RFL that you wish to/are going to wear your away kit for a home fixture. I also believe that the away team is meant to bring both kits with them. That said how difficult can it be to know what colour a team is playing in? A simple phone call during the week as in local Saturday/Sunday football is all that is needed!

| But thank goodness for Ethel (or whatever her name was) who left her Sunday dinner to come in and open the club shop to get Cas some jerseys out the cupboard; you couldn't make it up!
All this, bear in mind, was on national TV; a great advert for RL.

| perhaps we could loan crusader kit for the rest of the season or buy it off them so they can pay their players, and some how fool the RFL into thinking we are crusaders playing at belle vue and we just moved ground again maybe that is wednesdays announcement.

Surely Huddersfield. It was their home fixture therefore they should have been in their home kit.
It can only be described as amateur.

| Saves me typing it out so kudos to IA who posted this on the Leeds board, pretty much sums it up, for "few weeks" substitute May 17th, thats when we e mailed the RFL and Cas to remind them of the kit choices.
Quote: few weeks "Actually, it is looking like the other way around, from what I have just read! Cas played two home games on the trot at the start of the season and the second one was against Huddersfield at home on Sky. Cas asked Huddersfield if they would wear their home kit, rather than there away kit, SO Cas could wear their new away kit (on sale in the club shop right now!!!) in front of their home fans for early season publicity! Huddersfield agreed and said that they would happily do so, as long as when the fixture was repeated, they would wear their away kit and Cas their home kit.
Huddersfield notified both Cas and the RFL a 'few weeks' ago of their intention to play this fixture in their away kit, as agreed following the game in February!
I think Cas not picking up on this and failing to always bring two kits to an away fixture, as directed, is going to see them shoulder most of the responsibility.'"

| The whole incident not only brought the game in to disrepute in front of a global TV audience but also proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that one or both of cas and Hudds are totally incapable of running a market stall let alone a multi million pound sports franchise. Boot them both out of Super League!!! NOW!!
