Some poor bugger down south will be thinking what a nice development that sounds

I'll have nowt said about Lupset - I grew up there. And from a purely financial point of view, it will be a nice development - 300 affordable homes in an area that has excellent transport links to the whole of the region. I can't see it taking long to be sold off and construction to start.
It's interesting that WMDC are suggested to have blocked the use of the Westgate facilities; I happen to know that there have been talks about this for a couple of years, so it would seem they've had it earmarked for this purpose for quite some time - so not so much actively working against the club, but actively working to back-pocket the proceeds of the sale - probably to top up the paltry settlement given to LA's by central government as part of Osborne's austerity agenda.

| Not sure if I'm making this up, but, didn't Wakefield council sell their shares in Leeds Bradford airport a few years back and earmarked the money for our "new" ground, or was that just speculation by fans?

| The only difficulty with real demonstrations is that it will entrench the Council's position, if they have one. The ultimate demonstration is to disown the city and move out permanently, but then Wakefield doesn't have a club. I support my home city's rugby league club, not a limited company based elsewhere (albeit I will happily go to to Dewsbury in the short term).
The one thing about us not moving to Dewsbury even if the sale doesn't go through is that, due to the teams in the Middle 8's, it gives the RFL a gilt-edged opportunity to chuck us out if a sacred cow loses the MPG, given the dispensation towards Belle Vue and the current state of it.

| If Market Research showed viability I'd support a move to Barnsley & call the team Trinity.
I feel Wakefield doesn't want us.

It's not Wakefield though is it. It's dictator BOX.
I have not heard from one person yet who has a good word for him.
I've never spoken to him but I think I would despise him anyway!

True story this.
Many moons ago when the Thornes Stadium was the hot news I met Box at a dinner and we shook hands after a brief but reasonably pleasant conversation, this was before he back tracked on everything.
Very shortly after I started getting patches of eczema on the very same hand. Never had it before and don't get it anywhere else but it has remained persistent in that one area!
Now it may have nothing to do with the fact that I touched his oily putrid skin but it makes you wonder. MUST SAY AGAIN THIS IS NOT A BS STORY.

I concur thoroughly with your second paragraph Slugger. Too much of a coincidence that the RFL seem to be clamping down even more so on the state of our ground just when there's a chance that their beloved Whinos may be in imminent danger of relegation.

| We are just paranoid, the problems with Belle Vue are down entirely to our lack of any kind of investment. We have spent nothing so nothing as changed, I and many others have been asking for our seats to be marked as reserved but to no avail and what does this entail but sticking a piece of paper on a seat. I think the desire to change is more to do with wanting to remove the pressures brought about by Belle Vue which will not materialise at Dewsbury because it will be their chairman who is in charge of the ground.
I am not having a go at MC he posted that himself so the move would be his preferred option, let's face it we would have moved last season.
I note that everything posted is heresay, does anyone have confirmed proof that the council are stopping the development at Belle Vue or have they just read it in here or other forums. The ground is owned by the BOI so the council can do very little other than to give us breathing space to match any offer. I believe the ground as been sold and I note that no one involved has refuted this which suggests we chose not to.
We are a business not a WMDC charity who I am sure wish they had more money from the friends of MS Jefferies. They are responsible for three clubs as far as I know they have done nothing more for Castleford than they have for us and nothing at all for Featherstone.
If we end up at Dewsbury it is because it suits us to play there. I am sorry but based on what MC posts he is glorying in the move away from Wakefield.

| If you think that MC is glorying in it Scarlet, them I'm afraid it will ultimately back fire on him when the crowds dwindle at Dewsbury and we're stuck there with Championship crowds watching a Championship team playing in a Championship stadium ad infinitum. Haven't we spent nearly all our years in Super League trying to avoid this?
There surely must be a rich Arab out there somewhere with money to spend. For God's sake if Sheffield Eagles can attract the money why can't we?

| I agree Belle Vue is not in the best of states but for people to say that no money has been spent on it is factually incorrect. Circa 500k was spent on the 2 new roofs which I think everyone would agree have added to the atmosphere on match days especially on the north stand.
Would a move outside the city stop me supporting the club? No
Would it stop me attending as many games? Possibly
However if the choice is between staying at BV and not being in SL or playing outside of Wakefield and being in SL then it is a no brained and we have to move and fair play to the club for exploring all options.

| Wow - 3 days away and WW3 breaks out! Lots happening, lots to happen. All bases covered as far as we can - ST, Stadium Trust and club. No witch burning just yet please. As SC has already said, we need all of the Trust together and to agree next steps. There are things most of you do not know and we cannot discuss - just a fact of life that will never change - we are working our nuts off to make this work - and that isn't always in a loud and obvious manner. You would have more to worry about if we weren't here - I think!
