wrong mate
there is massive competition from Soccer... seems to be the most popular sport amongst kids (boys and girls) here... what does happen however is that the sporting season is split into two 6 month periods.. kids and adults play one sport during the summer... (cricket/ basketball/ touch football/ indoor soccer/ baseball/ tennis/ surfing - iron man) and during the winter they play League/ Rugby/ Soccer/ Netball it gives everybody the opportunity top play more than one sport and really raises the appetite for the season coming.
and take it from someone who has seen player bans... international sanctions... positive discrimination... open invitation to have a team full of overseas players... none of them have worked... and never will! until the grass root structure of the sport is managed professionally, and local RL is seen as a sexy thing to do for young people... we will never beat the Aussies... oh and getting our best players playing in the intensity of the best league competition in the world...

Stosic doesn't seem to be kicking up a stink about it (Sonny?). He’s an intelligent guy who seems unlikely to be ‘stitched up’ in such a manner, not to mention he would be more the protected by the players Union if the club was acting disingenuously.
Quota restrictions are now 5, Trinity have filled these positions, Stosic is still classed as a Quota player until he gets a passport from a European country. There is an argument that the club should’ve held off filling their Quota until it was sorted as a contingency against things going wrong but I think they were led to believe that everything was OK.

Stozz is a big boy. The details of his contract were plain and simple, it was 1+1 depending on the passport. He knew exactly what he had to do and the onus was on him. He also paid for the services of an agent, who should have advised him not to agree if it was likely to be a problem. Stozz went into the deal with both eyes open. I wish you would open your eyes also as your view on this seems a little blinkered.

| I was also told that had he gone and played for Serbia he would have got a Serbian passport and been okay for next season but he chose to go to the USA instead.
I've met James and he is a nice guy and I really wish he was staying with us and we will miss him. In my opinion our best prop last season and whoever he plays for will get a quality player.
Best of luck to him but I don't think we have "stiched" him up. We could have used a quota spot on him and not signed Morisson, Millard or Jeffries but that was a decision for John Kear and he'e made that decision.
