I'd suggest there's at least one more to come!
Paea, Collis and Sammut won't have been on poor contracts so a fair amount saved on wages because of their departures.

| Quote: TheButcher "We do know that for certain.
Locke had become an expensive fixture due to injury and re-injury. He couldn't get back in the team because he was being played out of his position by a 21 year old ex-Salford academy player. He had a few indiscretions off the field. One in France and he didn't endear himself to the management by going diving in the Manchester ship canal when he was 'recovering' from injury. His relations with MK deteriorated further when MK publicly commented about players not putting effort in but happy to take the cash. He decided to resign out of the blue, using money as an excuse.'"
So you still don't know it for certain.
What's clear is that there is a dispute between the employer and employee and it looks from the outside like they've reached a settlement agreement - the rest is rumour, supposition and pieced together from the mad ramblings of MarwanK - a man who is increasingly becoming a caricature of himself.
Either way, it's a fresh start for the player and given the dire straits we find ourselves in, we can only hope that he takes the opportunity to play himself into an NRL contract for next season, and helps keep us up in the process. Time will tell!

He may have his problems but compared to the problems we have at Fullback he must be a guaranteed improvement'"
I guess the gamble is we waste cash on Locke we don't really have instead of on someone else. I'm happy with the risk

| Think Locke will be really good, if he wasn't going to knuckle down, would BS have taken him on board?
Think it's more of a case that someone has mentioned, BS commands respect and players respond to that.
Think Locke will definitely respond.

Eh?
What you quoted is what is known. Not guessed at.
For some reason you don't seem to be accepting the facts of the matter...Locke injured. A lot. Can't get back in team. Dispute over wages. Slapped on the wrist a few times by management. Management unhappy with Locke. Locke resigns. Salford not that fussed as he didn't do a lot. Most Salford fans wishing him and Wakey well.
It's fine if you don't like MK. It's fine if you are excited about a world-class player playing for you. (Even if you pesky Wakey fans were singing that he's a waste of money )
All genuine Salford fans are gutted that it didn't work out, as even half-crocked he was faster and more effective than most SL players. It just wasn't meant to be.
I don't see why you keep going on about what I say isn't the truth...

| If he is fit and focussed then he is a real good signing, one that will make the difference between staying up and going down. If its the fat and unfocussed version at Salford the same applies in reverse. I expect though he will feel he has a point to prove, especially come to Salford game in the middle 8's.

If that's all in the public domain, then I'm happy to stand down; I guess I'm not used to a club where all the dirty laundry is aired in public.
And you're right - I am excited - but cautiously so; Locke is clearly not a dead cert to pull up trees for us. And no, I don't like Dr Koukash - I find it bizarre that someone so apparently bright can have so little self-awareness.

| Kevin Locke will be brilliant if he can re create his Warriors form. Unfortunately when the Warriors signeed Tomkins Kevin had his nose pushed out. I believe he can make a big difference he has ability and have often see him put his body on the line for the Warriors. I really hope he does well.

| Locke appears to be one of the highest profile import signings for a number of years....who in the past compares in terms of class? Obviously Wally Lewis is on the list but I'm trying to think of previous world class players that have put on the red, white and blue?
As for the above New Zealand article playing for struggling Wakefield Trinity didn't harm the future prospects of Wally Lewis, Ben Westwood, Gareth Ellis et al did it? They've ignored the fact that one of the most successful coaches of the last 30 years both in NRL and SL is the coach at Trinity. This will have influenced Locke's decision as well as playing against Salford his former club who could be relegated instead of Trinity?
